I might have only posted a couple of times, but I had posted. I’ve also lurked on all the others, and posted a handful of times, and sure, I know probably no one really cares that much about my opinion (or recognises my posts), but it would be nice if they did!

There’s probably a few reasons why I posted what I did, when I did, and those reasons vary between being for you, for me and for others. It’s been an interesting thing to reflect on, thanks!

In the end, I guess I was just a bit grumpy and needed my ear scratching. I forgot it was lite entertainment.

I’m still confused at why you are so caught up in the gender thing. Agree with the idea there’s deception at all levels. I suppose it just the way you see it, and that’s ok. I can live with that. I just don’t relate to it. Which is fine too.

I guess that’s a bit of clarity on what my previous comment meant. That’s what I was saying to you, that’s what I was figuring out for myself, and I want to offer the message to others that it’s ok not to relate.

Also, aren’t you re-writing history yourself by replacing the original version with the new version? Nowhere does it flag that it’s been updated, so the reviews back in 2016 now seem to relate to a very different, much condensed version of the book.

But how much do I talk about gender in the book?

Would you say I am 'caught up' in gender? Or do I present it as an obvious way one can tell when one is being deceived?

If that way was peanut butter, I'd be talking more about that. We had been 'producing' a way to tell agents of chaos apart from regular folks in our reality. And now we have that, I think.

This is about deception with chaos, not gender specifically.



No, not all levels. All levels of society, yes. But our reality is not just society. Our local reality is far less deceptive that the non-local (chaotic) parts of our reality.

If you'd like to play a game and point out one public-facing area where you don't think there is deception, I'd be interested.

Deception is just chaos. I'm sure most people would prefer it to remain as an abstract concept without a name or a face (so we can continue ignoring it) but in some other ways we can minimize it by knowing what it is.

Cognitive dissonance is very real, though. If it was highly relative to someone but they had cognitive dissonance, might they say that there is no such deception in their reality? Not to say that that is the case here, but it is something to think about.

The original version on Amazon was up for about three hours. But I see your point.

Amazon does not display version information, even though it asks for it when the book is updated. It doesn't display the publication dates for the different version, nor provide an overview of differences between the versions.

I've made about 40-70 updates, but this was the most major change, however, so perhaps I should put a 'completely revised 2019' somewhere (in the title or description, perhaps) since it doesn't display.

I thought you did it on purpose to illustrate how easy it is, even now, to re-write history or shape perspective. I’m quite pleased that you didn’t (that would be quite sneaky!) but isn’t it fascinating that amazon is set up that way?

People trust other people’s opinions... a 5 star book is taken a lot more seriously than a 1 star one, so to think you could just swap something completely different in...

Yes, I can see that. Where does confirmation bias play into this though? That’s just as real, with opposite effect.

Well, think of it like this.. nobody really cares about our local reality except for us and perhaps those immediately around us.

Local as in friends, family, community, home, person, etc.
