In my case, there would have been the process of patiently waiting for corpse removal and I would have used used all the leftover blood and brain matter to fertilize my garden. Then I would wash my hands, open up a videogame and smile... As an Ex-LE officer...I believe op did a great job. Can you imagine the hell of going through weapon seizure, heavy investigation and public hatred just because you protected your family? I would imagine you've not thought that through, you're not very bright. Bottom line...The perp ran away. He won't be back. Really? I think he will, I had perps come back many times, but maybe it was because they were sent by CORRUPT LEOs? They think they are impuned when a LEO sends them.
