100lbs? As a male you should be able to do that all day long unless you were a tiny 5'9 or smaller toothpick kind of guy.

Exactly, some here believe that carrying the occasional 400lbs on your shoulders a short distance is a feat of strength when it's a common thing in my trade. No wonder the plastering trade is dying from lack of fresh blood.

How many times should an average man be able to lift 100 pounds of weights over his head. I say 5 minimum. 10 good for above average. 20 plus for serious ass kickers.
What say you??

The average US man is not an athlete nor a gym rat. He does not lift weights. He is 25-30 pounds overweight. He does not climb stairs. He is not the average high-school football player, although he probably was 15-20 years ago. For him, once or twice would be pretty good for 100# over-head shoulder press.

My friend delivers Truck tires...135-250lbs each if it is mounted on a wheel.

He's an old guy - just turned 60

He can run the youngsters into the ground and MELTS them unloading trailers full of Truck tires in the heat - two went DOWN this past summer trying to keep up with him...

He picks these tires up with ONE ARM and tosses into the truck...uses a ramp for the bigger ones and Farm tires.

He LAUGHED when the local gym sent someone over to get a pristine $500 Truck tire to throw for their contest and training...he said "They only have to do it once?"

His arms are as big as your waist...

100 lbs over his head...all day long...

But the joints are wearing...getting arthritis...(I told him about the Boron and I am anxious to see if he does it and it helps)

Just like the OP says...PRACTICE builds muscle...and skinny libtards do not have a clue how much it takes of raw physical strength to do some of these jobs.

Which side of labor?

I see them supporting the importation of as much unskilled labor as possible, driving down their own wages.

I remember when democrats opposed that 50 and 100 years ago.

You are correct, and the Democrats have been so disappointing.

Democrats pander to the Hispanic vote on identity politics and Republicans have been supporting amnesty for tens of millions of Mexicans because they want the cheap labor, so we've been getting it from both directions.

Trump is actually being real about pushing out illegals which is good for labor.

Look into Peter Attia’s research - lifting a respectable amount/repetitions is critical to optimum health and longevity. His stuff is life changing.

Re: How many times should an "average" man be able to lift 100 pounds over his head?
I do plastering, drywall, stucco and stone work, I move around that weight + in buckets, pallets, scaffolding... all day long, 7 days a week in the summer as stucco is seasonal where I am.

A real man should be able to easily shuffle that weight for an 8 hour day, easily. That includes lifting it over your head, passing it up... stucco pails range fro 75 to 145 lbs (depends on finish type), portland cement bags are 100 lbs per bag, I carry 2 most of the time and up to 4 when it's the last run.

I'm not a big guy, 6' = 184 lbs.

I once helped a gun line resupply m198 rounds.
I carried one on each shoulder from the FMTV to the gun line about 100 yards away. They weigh 100 pounds each.

I made about 30 trips in a little under an hour. Wore me out.

Depends on the age and size of the guy. A guy that weights 140 is different than a guy who's 6 foot 5 and weighs 350. I was 5'11 and in my prime weighed 225 and could do reps of 375 on a bench press. 100 pounds was warmup for me in any position. I'm over 70 now, weigh 290 and could get 100 over my head if needed.
