Re: Another mail bomb sent to CNN
The fire at the reichstag had nothing to do with Hitler gaining power.

The nazis gained power by walking out on the vote, then using violence to intimidate Germans to switch parties. Once they gained a majority they voted Hitler in.

The fire was just a ploy to consolidate the power once they gained it.

Actually Adolf Hitler never won an election. Hitler ran for President of Germany in 1932 and Paul von Hindenburg trounced him. Then in the last free election held in Germany in November 1932 Hitler's Nazi party only got 33% of the vote. It was the most votes but they didn't come close to the majority needed.

But there had been violence with the Nazi SA brownshirts so it was decided that Adolf Hitler would become Chancellor in January 1933. It was hoped the violence would stop and the next election could change things. In February 1933 Hitler used the Reichstag Fire Decree to ban other political parties and the people of Germany lost freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom from search and seizure of property and anyone could be arrested and have no right to see a judge.

Hitler wasn't voted in by a majority and he used the Reichstag Fire Decree to ensure there would be no more free elections in Germany since Hitler and the Nazis weren't that popular. The people of Germany never got their constitutionally protected civil liberties and lived in a totalitarian dictatorship and police state until 1945.

So in other words youre just explaining how he was right...

There will be casualties.

You do get to choose your side. I chose the Bright Side where my God fights for me.

Others chose the Dark Side and fight for an entity that views them with disdain and discards them.

Well I'm explaining that the Reichstag Fire Decree had everything to do with Hitler and the Nazis gaining power. When Hitler became Chancellor his party only had 33% of the vote so the Nazis had to make the people of Germany happy or they would be voted out in the next election. Instead Hitler used the Reichstag Fire Decree to grab Germany by the balls. His political opponents were jailed and the people of Germany lost all freedom and didn't have any voice in the running of their country until that little shitstain was gone.

So whoever said the Reichstag Fire Decree was how Hitler gained power was right.
