I had the privilege of being the first ballot cast at my precinct.

Wife and I both voted. All RED.

I voted.

Minneapolis...all red.

I didn't want to, kept putting it off, and putting it off. It really buggered me with the consistent random text messages from different affiliates all begging for a vote for their candidate. I truly despise all of the division, and hysterics. But, at last, I finally did the deed. Mostly because of the opposing party that I do not want. Even though some could be traitors, patsies, or agent provocateurs, I still voted for those who were the opposing side of whom I want in power. Its not easy, but the deed is done. And I know in my heart of hearts who I am as an American, and what it means to be one. The hate that I know will inevitably come my way once those who are my closest associates find out, if they find out, my core beliefs, credo, and defining principles. Especially considering that I am in a leftist hot zone, deep behind enemy lines. A place that has none the less been the neighborhood I grew up in, but no longer recognize as a sanctuary for free speech.

A friend in Illinois' 19 year old daughter went to vote for her first time. She was told she had already voted! They gave her a provisional ballot but she still came home in tears.

Did my duty today. My state is pretty red, but voted anyway.
