Just Voted RED in liberal Mass a Chew Shits
as a put my ballot in the machine some old guy was looking at my ballot and I said - I tried to vote for Trump but couldn't find his name. The lady sitting there makering down who voted said "why would you want to do that?". I said "huh?" and she said "nothing" as if she shouldn't have commented. So I loudly said "To make America great again" then turned and walked away.

Re: This is the “My Voting Today Experience Thread”
Thanks for starting this OP. Here's what I had posted earlier. I'm in California.

This year we received a postcard from our official California voter people. It said that we live in a precinct with less than 250 registered voters so we HAD to vote by mail this year. When we look up online for our polling place, we are met with the same information online - no polling place. Our polling place has always been 3 houses away from us (across the street) and we generally handcarry our ballots there, or surrender and vote on premises, just to make sure our vote is counted on the day, and not in a month (or never for all we know). Its nice to see neighbors and chat about the voting turn out, etc. With a city of over 65,000 people I wanted to see a precinct map, still unable to comprehend how there are only 250 registered voters in our precinct.

Well woke up this morning to a street full of parked cars - look across the street and guess what - there is the same old polling place up and running! What in Sam Hell is going on here?

Second issue - my son was issued a vote by mail ballot - he lives about a mile from me - his ballot never showed up so he wrote the voting folks, who suspended his original ballot and reissued another ballot to him. It took 7 business days for this new ballot to arrive - which actually arrived yesterday in his mailbox. The cutoff date to have it in the mail was..... YESTERDAY! If he had been unable to get around he couldn't just mail his ballot back through his mailman - and by the time he got home from work and voted on his ballot it was 5:30 at night - on a whim I drove him out to the post office and luckily they stayed open until 6 pm and we handed that ballot to a post office worker instead of putting in a bin somewhere that might not have been postmarked in time had we done that. He said 'mom I swear this is designed so I can't vote'. I think he's right.

I'll post again after I visit our neighbors who hold the polling place. Honestly right now I'm very pissed off that we were treated differently than other folks. Something up with that!!!

I was a bit stumped on how to vote when the independent is better than the republican, but you don't want the dem to win.

Perhaps we need those systems where you get to vote for your first and second fave?

Poll workers very very pleasant, usually the nice ladies who work for the Election board bake some homemade goodies for the voters

Guess thats just for the general elections tho...

Our polling place in our area was also changed! The lady at the number I called to find out where to go swore up and down that she'd taken out ads in the paper, (which we don't get) and had ads running during the noon farm ag report on the local radio,(we don't have a reason to listen to).

Once at the NEW place, it was packed. No, I can't have a paper ballot, no, the machine didn't issue receipts.

I made very sure that the screen had not flipped my votes only to forget that I had to check that damn paper roll to the side to make sure that jived with the screen.

I AM PISSED!

In 2016 the lines were out the door at my polling station. Today I walked in at 11 AM and there was no line at all. I was in and out in under 10 minutes.

Not sure if that's a good or bad sign.

Rural Western Montana here.

Voted just now in the local School Gym. Was just after noon local time. Town is about 800 people. Not a big crowd. I voted almost exclusively republican except for a former Sheriff who is running for county commissioner. There were two offices where no candidate was listed. I wrote myself in. So, I'll get at least two votes in my first run for public office.

Re: This is the “My Voting Today Experience Thread”
Just voted in a liberal stronghold in northwest Alabama. I'm pretty good at spotting democrats and republican voters just by appearance (liberals sometimes make it painfully obvious). Typically, I see about a 70%-30% split favoring democrats voting in my district. Today, it was the opposite.

I saw multiple people in full military fatigues (I did see one of them voted republican, because I put my ballot in right after him). I saw a LOT of really old people and hardly any younger people. Some of them had MAGA hats on. I saw some well dressed younger women, which could go either way. And I saw only a small handful of the "angry-lesbian" types. Those actually make up a large portion of people in my district. I also saw less minorities than usual as well, including one black man with a smile on his face and a MAGA hat.

Re: This is the “My Voting Today Experience Thread”
Just voted here.

Facility was the local public library. It was busy getting in and out of the lot but there were easily available places to park. Inside, there was no line, I waited for probably 3 minutes for the person in front of me to finish. Filled out my ballot and put it in the slot.

I was surprised that ballots were not scanned in on-site. Previously there's been a Scantron where the ballots are read in after being filled out. This time they just went into a collection box. Waved goodbye and Godspeed to my piece of paper trusting, like a message in a bottle, that it'll eventually find it's way to somewhere it'll do some good.

No issues or complaints, other than I wish I had a tracking receipt and a way to verify it online afterward.

Voted in Hauser ID this morning. Wait was 45 minutes and one of the workers said it had been non-stop since 8:00am.

Heavy conservative area that normally doesn't have a good turnout on non-presidential election years since it always goes red across the board.

A gentleman and his wife that had just moved to the area were in line in front of me and he asked why I don't just vote by mail. I told him I like the experience of voting in person and don't mind the wait. I love seeing the long lines on election day.

Only one place to vote in my small N. Minnesota town. The lady at my precinct table said it's been real busy since 7 a.m.
I voted straight red ticket.

5 precinct tables and the workers are the same every election so they know the people in their precinct. We have to sign in by our name in the county registration book. No ID needed cuz everyone knows everyone.

I was so happy to see so many people at 1 p.m. voting. The parking lot was a mess but it was a happy mess. Starting to rain, too, yet people were still coming when I left.

Voted at 3:00 in Pennsylvania. I usually take off early from work to vote before the big after work rush. Got in and out but did find out that there have been double the voters at this point in my little town.....Praying they were mostly republicans.

No one at the blue/red tables outside tried to stop us to see if we would confirm our vote or anyone doing exit polling.

Voted straight republican.
