I do know that after Katrina there were quite a few signs like that. At one point the damn city govt. began going around confiscating legally owned firearms from citizens trying to protect their property since the fire and police depts. were in total disarray. I was living in Baton Rouge at the time and I promise you it was very chaotic even in BR. I actually worked with a displaced lady who's husband was killed during Katrina. He was a police officer and the "official" cause of death was suicide but she won a wrongful death lawsuit against the City of New Orleans because multiple forensic pathologists testified that there was no way the gun shot was self inflicted. She has always believed that some of his fellow officer shot him when he tried to stop them from looting. In the aftermath of Katrina, NOPD officers did a lot of looting and not just for food and water. I know they took a bunch of high end Cadillac's from a dealer in New Orleans.
