From the very beginning, I thought it was, too. The media showed a poorly dressed, sad, bearded man. Said he was a poor homeless veteran down to his last $20.00 that he gave to the woman. Everyone immediately assumes a "vet" spent time risking his life during combat in the Middle East, and that he now has PTSD.

The truth:
I did some research and found the guy on Facebook. He was healthy, looked strong, was clean shaven, smiling and holding a big dog in his arms.

He also spent a few months in the military. Never spent any time in the Middle East. It looks like he was dishonorably discharged. I think I found that info on a military website.

As far as what I found on Facebbok about the young couple, they did not look like model citizens.
