Yet, to my understanding I take it you are considering hindering future generations of young people from allowing another viewpoint from scripture. Is this not your example of what you consider allowing the option of choosing an open mind concept! Removing the option of choice by regulating the elimination of other options of that choice seems to conflict with you open mind precepts.

Nevertheless, my belief and it is only my opinion, is that an open mind does not constitute a greater leverage toward that objective by eliminating other objections toward that set goal. An open mind policy I have found often is just another excuse to allow entrance of other intentions/entities at enmity with the soul to find a new dwelling place. Thus, inducing a greater conflict within oneself, than was its uncomplicated/original intended inception.

And how some time God even speaks to his own to warn them and help them.... The Bible is nothing but a great sharing of hope for mankind...
