In the last few years I lost my job and my home. I opened a small retail business in a 130 year old refurbished mill and I lost my business, inventory and personal belongings to fire, burnt to the ground. 9 months later, after living in my car, town to town, couch to couch, I finally found employment in a new town. That was 5 months ago and finally was able to rent a small place of my own, and now my car broke down, engine failure. Oh my, I felt so unprotected earlier this week. A friend took me to the grocers for my Thanksgiving food and today I will make the meal that was handed down to me from my mother and grandmother. I may spend this day alone, reflecting on Thanksgivings past, yet I know I am not alone. I now have a home, a beautiful meal, golden memories and a heart wide open. Blessings are always flowing. May your day be blessed, full of gratitude, love, laughter, and fond memories. She's a multicolored lady. Angry red, passion blue, but mostly shades of green. Greg Allman |
