At one point I was told have Lyme disease,I don't but did lots of research. Research Eric Traub who worked with ticks at plum island as part of operation Paperclip. Plum island is in the hamptons and right across the channel from Lyme, ct. When I was stationed in New England tons of people I knew mentioned seeing deer swim the channel form Lyme ct to plum island. Traub studies ticks as a vector for disease and turned them loose on plum island. He was a Nazi scientist and worked with Bogdoferi(the spirochete that cause Lyme) . Virginia now has the lone star tick native to Tx. A wildlife rehab center in Roanoke va was part of the study tat found the 1st lone star tick in va. Ticks have absolutely been weaponized!!! The longhorn tick has been known to be infected with Rickettsia, Borrelia, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, and Theileria species, as well as Heartland and Powassan viruses. The tick has also been linked to severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus, which causes hemorrhagic fever.

“The deaths were directly related to heavy loads of winter ticks,” said Peter Pekins, a University of New Hampshire wildlife ecologist and one of the study’s authors, adding that ticks can extract most of a calf’s blood in two to three weeks. On average, they found 47,000 ticks on a calf.

Humans of Earth! I have come in peace. You need not fear me. I mean you no harm. However, it may be important to know that most of you will not survive the next 24 hours. I can see how this could happen after what happened to our dog.

One morning we got up and saw this line of insects in our house, on the second floor no less, coming through the window and heading straight for our elderly dog.

At first I thought they were ants, but they were ticks, and she was covered in them. We bathed her and removed all the ticks, then sprayed to kill or at least repel them, and kept the window shut.

It never happened again, but it was a surprise to us that they'd climb all the way up to the second floor to come after our dog in our house.

I always thought the tick story was a lil off just like spanish flu. I think both were helped along a lot.

Longhorned ticks weren’t previously known to live in the U.S., much less to live on a solitary sheep in Hunterdon, New Jersey that had never traveled outside of the country. She hadn’t even left the property in years. Yet here was a bug that wasn't supposed to exist on this continent—in droves.

ohh yeahhh thats true!

but i thought with ticks only the person that came in contact with the tick dies. unless it would become some transmittable disease than yea it could kill billions

(but even ebola doesnt get big numbers like that anymore, so idk)
