Quoting: Jumpin Jack thats becoming a real problem they blocked port huron last month Is this true? Are you serious? How the heck did this happen? Somali pirates act in warm waters close to home - what are they doing in the frigid Great Lakes? Well, I had not heard that either and it seems this would be huge news. So that's why I asked him for a link. No reply, so it's prolly more jake news. |

LOL Trump said it! LOL We're used to him getting numbers wrong. Happens all the time. No biggie. Just carry on. He's right you guys.. come on "When the National Guard celebrates its 382nd birthday Thursday, skeptics might ask the obvious question: "How can the National Guard be 140 years older than the nation, and exist more than two centuries before it popularly took on the name National Guard?" Admittedly, a 1636 Massachusetts Bay Colony farmer would find the modern National Guard as unfathomable as the Boston skyline. But the Massachusetts militia's origin story forms the first thread in the patchwork of today's National Guard. The subsequent acts and legislation that followed constitute rebirths of a long-standing tradition. In 1636, the first militia units in the New World organized in the Massachusetts Bay Colony under three permanent regiments. These militia units trace their lineage into the 17th century and through the Revolutionary War." The Arkansas guard was converted from a militia to the guard in 1903. My grandpa was in about 1915-1920ish. My uncle was in and helped protect the Little Rock 9. |

I said it out of fondness of my old guard unit. We joked about weight issues because they kicked so many out on weight issues in the 90s. I had to to get the body fat test exmption everytime because I weighed 220lbs. We weren't full time soldiers so our unit had a group of people that were fat compared to Rangers and such but we were extremely competent at our MOS. That's the truth like it or not. |
