I dreamed I was at a great mans funeral fest...

For any fellow Anishnabek and Lakota, Dakota:
I dreamed I was going to an event at what looked very much like Pine Ridge Rez, back a while, when you could go into the cemetary on top of the hill over looking seas of waving grass.
But when I looked over to it, and at the church, there were NO cemetaries at all. Just a multitude of our People, all about 30yrs old and happy and singing.

I was wearing good regalia, doeskin with long fringes and turquoise. Guys in ribbon shirts. Young guys driving typical rez pick-up trucks that look like they shouldnt be able to even start. All were walking toward a sunny open spot near the old catholic church.
I saw Phyllis FastWolf, who had walked on, and Russell Means(both old AIM friends)...I said to him "Has everyone here walked on" He said no, some are dreamers like you and some soul traveling. We are getting a big feast ready for passing of an important man..." Then he asked if I would go over and help the women nearby in the shade of a huge pine.

I went over and they had an elder with a white braid on a blanket and they indicated I shud pick up a corner. The old one moaned.I asked why is she old? The women said we are in her room at an elders home but she is dreaming she is here like in the old days how we used to comfort people who hurt all over so we gently rocked the blanket and sang lullabies until her pain left and she slept. We then gently laid her on a bed of pine boughs with her shawl under her head and a rabbit fur blanket.

Well thats it. The gramma is us old people, I think. The passing person will have some connection to us all, good or bad. Of course I left out some of the "Medicine" and private messages, but I thought you"d like to see a glimpse into the happy hunting grounds ...Miigiiseakwe.
