I am anxious to see somebody make pressed board composites from hemp that has fibers that run the whole length of the board then rapped in a perpendicular fiber layer for shear protection.

If we can actually grow it I plan to have lots of acres of hemp. The first year there probably won't be a place to sell it large scale. It will take time to get the industry going.

I never was taught civics in the government training centers. Learned all that stuff dealing with the actual legislators and the actual agencies including sit down meetings with the Sec of Ag in DC. They suck. Lol.

Hemp seeds (hearts) were legally available even prior to this development... Check amazon or your local health food store....

There are really only 2 forms of cannabis (there is third but its just an early budding strain that doesn't have much to do with industrial hemp). The seeds bred for 'nutritional hemp' are available.
Those are shorter flowering and less dense planting hemp plants. They are also shorter in stature. The plants for fibre/etc planting are rather tall and planted really close together so that they do very little below the stock as far as growth wise. The seeds are marginal since the budding is miniscule and they get turned into fiber/plastics etc.

This is brilliant news! Hemp is a miracle plant, good for so many things, grows fast, and helps the soil. Three crops instead of one. End the use of plastics - completely!!!

:). Yes. Been recommending them for years. GLA, ratio of good fats, magnesium, manganese, fiber, high quality carbohydrate and protein and the best fats found so far.

A dietary staple so the hope is that everyone becomes aware these are good for all in a massive way because of their nutritional value. What other seed can we eat that contains the highly desired GLA? None. Yes it's found in breast milk for newborns but other than that people aren't getting it.

So if this is grown in more and more fields across the USA organically it's a great thing for human health and probably our animal friends as well. Livestock feed? Great plant for crop rotation due to it's ability to get minerals deep down in the soil. Shouldn't need a bunch of chemicals to grow it either.

Never have eaten the leaves but heard they are super nutritious and where can we find the leaves to eat unless they are grown here? So this is another reason to have nutritional hemp grown here. Save on healthcare costs if everybody ate this plant in it's unheated form I bet...:). Not to mention pain, misery, and illnesses prevented.

I would grow the boring legal hemp just for the fiber and seeds....but not in this time line.

I looked into this in WI since our family has a good amount of property to grow, and they already lease some of it out for growing corn and soy.
When sign up to grow hemp, you basically sign your life away.
The gov is given unrestricted access to your property.
They can show up at any time to test your crop. If anything has a THC level above .03 I believe, then you must burn your entire crop immediately.
You also have to track pretty everything you do and submit it.
As soon as I mentioned “access to property” to my family, they were like “no effin way.”

Hopefully at some point the restrictions and fear along with it are lifted and we can have an awesome free market.
What this will do is mess with outdoor weed growers too. So much cross pollenating that ruins your other medicinal crop. This could be a way to wipe out organic MJ and usher in GMO weed. Just a theory. And a strong one considering the amount of money big Ag and pharm is throwing into the arena.
