The breastplate of righteousness is Jesus Christ and his blood that was shed for me.

My helmet is my hope of my salvation.

My belt of truth is the Word of God and Prophecy that I store in my heart.

My sandals of salvation are to be swift in delivering any message from God to another.

My sword is the Word of God, sharper than anything imaginable under the heavens above.

My shield, or buckler, is the shadow of the Almighty in whom I take refuge.

here is an other questionable understanding...believed by the church....and i suspect many religions.

When we meet God face to face..... meaning an other personage named GOD.....

Jesus said in the Bible it is written 'YE ARE GODS' ...

Psa 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Isa 41:23 Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

Jhn 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Same God(s)/Elohiym of Genesis 1......plural

Individually we must recognize that we are the rich-man AND the poor man in Abraham's bosom. (think Lazarus)

As this rich man eating from the high table of righteousness we must even having the whole armor of God ..... die.

We see this when we finally recognize who we see in the dark glass (mirror) we look through never remembering who we see in the dark glass.

WHEN WE SEE.....THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.......then WE lay down our lives....in the parable of the 'beheading' seen in The Revelation of Jesus Christ.

THEN COMES THE KNOWING ...because we SAW GOD FACE TO FACE...... think...

Ye are God/Elohim!

Seems to many of us that there must have been several different OT gods--many of whom were not Good, not full of Love and Truth.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. 1 John says "God is Love."
The OT "god" is variously Jealous and changeable and vindictive.
 Quoting: MarPep

OT God is NT God and is entirely consistent and you do not understand what you read.

if you/we/The US are to follow Jesus it must be in all things... we can not pick and choose as the sottish ones do..

the poor inherit the earth .... and Jesus was rich!

2Co 8:9

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

None of this is about DOLLARS/money...... it is about spiritual riches......that is why Jesus told the rich man HOW TO ENTER THE KINGDOM.

You claim the richness of the armor offered and speak of the riches of the golden TRUTHS located in scripture....

i suspect you long for the New Jerusalem and all its richness....golden streets and all.....

these things of the NJ mean..... TRUTH.....not actual gold and jewels.....

you catching on.... or are you wanting to rant at me.....

as a side note for the thought of the 'eye of the needle'....the 19th letter of the Hebrew Aleph/bayt is Qof meaning:

The letter Khof (also spelled Kuf, or Qof) originally meant the back of the head, or the eye of a needle

NOW we enter 2019.........

the literal rich will have a hard time in the coming year....

the spiritual rich should wake up.....and pray their flight not be in 'winter' meaning their 'spiritual darkness'......

they better not come down off their 'ROOF TOPS' ......rather stay there and pray through into 'summer' ....the spiritual light.

1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye Holy; for I Am Holy.

Where is this written?

In Leviticus 11 What is sanctified as Food by the Word of God and what is not.

44

For I Am YHWH your Elohim: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be Holy; for I Am Holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Isaiah 66:15- God's wrath, Second Coming ~

Isaiah 66:17
They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith YHWH.

Peter's vision was about non-Jewish believers, he says so, it was not about eating unclean things..

Acts 10:28

And he (Peter) said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but Elohim hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Keeping The Torah is Evidence that you are Saved (In the New Covenant), that He is leading you into all truth.

Many coming in His Name, saying He is the Messiah, and leading many astray, having done away with His Instructions.

False witnesses accused Paul of walking disorderly and not keeping the Torah, and Paul was asked to pay for the animal sacrifices of four men that had taken a vow until they found out if the rumor was true, And Paul in order to show that what was being said about him was a lie, paid for their sacrifices. Acts 21:20-28

(For not the hearers of The Torah are just before Elohim, but the doers of The Torah shall be justified. Romans 2:13

Do we then make void The Torah through faith? Forbid: yea, we establish The Torah. Romans 3:31

For I delight in The Torah of Elohim after the inward man: Romans 7:22

The New Covenant

For this is The Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith YHWH; I will put My Torahs into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a Elohim, and they shall be to Me a people: Hebrews 8:10 @ Jeremiah 31:33

Eze 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Eze 36:27
And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them.

2Co 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Mashiach, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

YESHUA also came to make the Torah honorable. Fill it to the full, full of meaning, cause it to abound.

Isa 42:21
YHWH is well pleased for His righteousness' sake; He will magnify The Torah, and make it honourable.

Think not that I am come to destroy The Torah, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to Pleroo. Matthew 5:17

Greek: Pleroo - Fill to the full, cause to abound, teach accurately as opposed to destroy. (twist to destruction)

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Thy Torah is the Truth. Psa 119:142

In the REST of the PASSAGE, Peter THEN explains WHY God or Jesus GAVE him the "vision".

You are in error for taking a PART of a "passage" / story and trying to use it for some type of argument that has an entirely different meaning.

Here's the REST of the "story".

Acts 10

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

So in the END, Peter's vision had NOTHING to do with dietary law. It had to do with gentiles being allowed by GOD to be Saved through Jesus just LIKE the Jews that Peter had taught to previously in Acts.

Yes you are for it referred to food because he said he was hungry

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Told him to kill and eat!

Fail!

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

I'm a joke? Is THAT all you got? 1rof1

Nope.

The vision has to do with Peter's willingness to obey God.

God "used" the vision as a "challenge" to Peter. In other words, IF God was to TELL Peter that he could NOW eat anything, would Peter accept the change in what was acceptable TO eat?

In comparison, Jesus originally had the Apostles teach ONLY to Jews. By then END of the story, Peter understood that it was NOW OK for him to teach & baptise ALSO gentiles who had been declared "clean".
