Re: 'H.R. 420' is a proposed bill that would regulate marijuana like alcohol
You can't regulate cannabis like alcohol. How are you gonna deal with second-hand cannabis smoke in the air or where people can smoke and people growing and manufacture cannabis products at home?
 Quoting: Cannabis Kills People

Don't worry, second hand smoke can't cross the Atlantic.

Now mind your own business, this has nothing to do with your country loser.

If its made legal it should be regulated
 Quoting: Printer-Parts

It's sale to minors should be regulated but I don't want to have to buy a permit from our government overlords to grow some weed.
 Quoting: Literally Hitler

Exactly.

No sales to minors.

Beyond that, I haven't actually heard a valid reason presented on why it should be further regulated.

People are their fucknard baser-opinion on things doesn't hold any weight with me.
 Quoting: BillLumbergh

What about testing for pesticides, microbes and other bad stuff...I've heard of some dealers mixing fentanyl with weed...that would not be a good joint.

1. Regulation would make sure that all products are safe for human consumption.
2. Regulation would also include crazy fines and prosecution for those providing the products to minors.
3. Regulation will no doubt cost the end consumer more in the end but they will also get a higher and safer quality.
 Quoting: Mr. Canna

I should've clarified I was talking about regulations on the consumer, not the product itself.

The product itself absolutely HAS to be tested for the things you mention, that's just a given.

Doesnt matter to me since I live in the first state to legalize it.

You knock progressive states on here all day long but they are the only ones smart enough to legalize it. You think Indiana or Tennessee will make it legal anytime soon? I think not.

Not in Washington. Its almost all Democrat except for the backwoods country folk and it passed on the ballot so not any politics involved.

Only reason its illegal in many states is they get money from bonds, court cost and even incarceration. Now all the lies that were told of what would happen when it was legalized have been proven false and they also see how much tax money comes in so this is not surprising. That bill wont pass unfortunately and I promise it wont be because of the Dems.

Anyways I hope you get it legal. Prices will be high for you guys for a year or two but should drop after that. I just bought an OZ for $22.50 last week:-)

Watch out for upcoming regulation that, if this passes, will affect firearm ownership.

Just sayin.
 Quoting: NXavier

I've been saying this since Obama floated the idea of legalization.

You set one foot in a cannabis store and you will lose your 2A. Get caught with 'unregulated cannabis' without the official govt. seal of approval? Lose your 2A.
 Quoting: NM 156

LOL bsflag

You are lying like a mother fucker.

Link one single example of this happening.
 Quoting: BillLumbergh

Bill is correct, you NM 156 are full of shit.

Once Cannabis becomes LEGAL in America, going into a Pot Shop will be the same as going into a Beer Store.

Can you lose your 2nd for buying a beer...I think not. Although...I guess it depends on how many beers and if you provide any of those beers to minors (and get caught).
 Quoting: Mr. Canna

This!!!

I know a lot of people who carry and use cannabis. There is no reason should they have to worry about losing their carry license for a bit of marijuana.

 Quoting: BillLumbergh

Rare. I completely 100 percent all the way disagree with you! lol

To the points...First off, there are many, many, many people who cannot grow their own cannabis. They may be physically unable, have brown thumbs, serious sensitivity to molds and mildews common with plants, they may not have the mental capacity to do it and follow whatever constraints their locality places upon them, or they might have children that could make it difficult, and they may not have the room to grow it.

Secondly, by preventing person to person transfers and growing for others, you are MAKING people engage in what is actually commerce (definitions are really important). Commerce does not occur between willing individuals on anything. It occurs when you bring in a third party, like a retail store, to move goods from the producer, through the store (or government entity) to the consumer.

Third, you are squashing entrepreneurship and often times, the ability of someone in need to access what they need without a headache or long wait for the regulatory agencies to document, verify, certify and "allow" the access.

There's more, but that's enough for now...

So, if it's a retail shop, wherein they purchase cannabis from growers and sell it to off the street customers, sure, regulate the "store" within reason, of course.

But regulate individuals dealing with individuals? They'll need to get legal authority to do it. Because...SURPRISE, they do not actually HAVE that authority.

No for real its legit. The most recent one is called "Crumbled Lime" and its a hybrid, THC is 26.85% with 0.00% CBD.

I have smoked since 1994 and I must say its good weed. Its fluffy weed and I prefer the more solid buds since I smoke bowls mostly but other than that I have no complaints.

Quality for the price is a 12 lol but honestly its a solid 7. If you want weed that much higher than 28% your either gonna have to get wax or pay a steeper price. There is so many options at the weed shop its unreal! Like a kid in a candy store.

So an ounce of "fluffy" flowers. Pretty sure that's called larf, but it's an amazingly low price.

It's not even worth growing if that's what you can get for it. Heck, when I was in HS the best you could do was an ounce for $80 and that was the "meh" stuff. The better stuff was 100 to 150.

Still, larf at $22.50 would be worth it for strictly personal use, yes. But wow, that's cheap.

A Libtard is a mainstream Democrat who is controlled by Wall Street and big tech companies. Libtards tend to be anti free speech. They believe there are 30+ genders. They believe that abortion should be legal because it’s a woman’s right to choose rather than because it helps keep the population in check. Libtards believe that businesses should be forced to make products for people who they believe to be morally reprehensible. Libtards believe there is a gender pay gap despite the fact men have harder more dangerous jobs.

If Democrats were smart they would approve wall funding in exchange for marijuana legalization on a federal level.

All regulation is pretty much a sham anyway, and designed to add another level of control over the masses.

Decades ago, when local prosecutors couldn't win a case against a major dealer they resorted to using a little-known law dating back to 1937 when you had to buy a Tax Stamp in order to have/use it. If you got cauht with Weed and didn;t have oyur Tax Stamp they could tack on all kinds of penalities onto your case/judgement. And, that's what they did to that poor guy back in the late 70's - even though they couldn't legally prove him guilty, they toted up enough bogus taxes to ruin him financially!

And -as far as I know- that old 1937 law is still on the books.

You can't regulate cannabis like alcohol. How are you gonna deal with second-hand cannabis smoke in the air or where people can smoke and people growing and manufacture cannabis products at home?

...

 Quoting: Fluffy Pancakes

Oh my friend...I am all about ENTREPRENEURSHIP...It's my heart and soul. My Micro Cultivation concept is going to allow dozens to hundreds of "Grey/Black" market growers to go legit...each one with their own fully built-out 2150 sq ft canopy (total about 2800ft, dry/cure/trim rooms) and max capacity per year of 600Kg with guaranteed sales of every single gram...there is so much more on this but I have to respect the rules of GLP...but I am most certainly NOT "squashing entrepreneurship".

Regarding the "Brown Thumb" growers...I totally understand...I am one of them...never even grown a Tomato...lol I'm working on another plan that will be a perfect solution for the "Brown Thumb" growers or those who may not have the physical ability, time, patience, etc...but still want to grow for their own recreational or medical purposes.

BTW...great response. I'm sure you and I would have a great conversation over a few drinks and a few puffs...LOL
