What the guy should have done is whoever owns land on the border and wanted a wall could hire the contractor to build a section on their property that would eventually connect up with the government wall.

I think that may be part of the plan because he said they are talking to Land Owners in dense crossing areas.

Yep as I said. Should have funded smaller sections and kept on doing fundings.

Section 1 financed and being built.
Section 2 financed and being built.
etc.

and make a website with the progress and the finished parts etc.

Maybe webcams of the progress etc.

It served its purpose. It made the point, and Trump decided to take a stand on this for the first time. That's worth the donation that I made and am now getting back.

He couldn't listen to reason and take good advice, to NOT use that retarded amateur subpar gofundme website for something as serious as this.

Sounds like gofundme FUCKED him and everyone for being a conservative cause, probably. Use a liberal's webiste for a conservative cause...oh just maybe it won't work out so well.

Does “nonprofit” mean that the staff aren’t paid? No. It’s the organization itself that isn’t making a profit, not the employees. With the exception of some very small organizations, most nonprofits are staffed by paid professionals. Some organizations employ volunteers in addition to their paid staff, but many don’t use volunteer help at all.

The money is being redirected to a secure fund if you tell Gofundme to redirect it.

Go to Gofundme site. It takes about 15 seconds to fill out the fund. If you don't it will refunded in April, if I recall correctly.

Can you update your title to reflect refund if don't fill out redirect form.

i donated to a friends cause on go fund me. gfm asks for a donation for their website, which i gave. i was fucking pissed when i found out they take 10% from the person in need. fuckers. glad he left that site and started a non proffit

$20 million raised in GoFundMe for Trump border wall to be refunded

GoFundMe said Friday that it would refund $20 million raised by more than 300,000 donors for President Trump's border wall after an account aiming to raise $1 billion for the wall changed part of its campaign.

While Kolfage said money donated to the original campaign would go to the government to fund a border wall, he wrote Friday that he has since formed a nonprofit corporation in Florida named “We Build the Wall, Inc.” to receive the GoFundMe contributions.

The page now states that the funds raised will be used “in the execution of our mission and purpose” for his new created nonprofit and not for a wall.

Since the original intent of the campaign’s promise has changed, GoFundMe said in a statement that the more than 337,000 people who donated will receive a refund.

“When the campaign was created, the campaign organizer specifically stated on the campaign page, ‘If we don’t reach our goal or come significantly close we will refund every single penny,’ ” GoFundMe spokesperson Bobby Whithorne told The Hill on Friday. “He also stated on the campaign page, ‘100% of your donations will go to the Trump Wall. If for ANY reason we don't reach our goal we will refund your donation.’ ”

“However, that did not happen. This means all donors will receive a refund,” Whithorne continued. “If a donor does not want a refund, and they want their donation to go to the new organization, they must proactively elect to redirect their donation to that organization. If they do not take that step, they will automatically receive a full refund.”
