The amendment would grant MPs control over parliamentary business for a day, which critics say could plunge the country into constitutional crisis." [link to www.change.org (secure)] "The EU referendum was a decisive democratic decision taken by our country. Dominic Grieve MP has failed to respect this decision, despite representing a leave constituency. In the recent EU (Withdrawal) Bill Commons votes, Dominic Grieve MP has tried to tie the Prime Minister's hands with a "meaningful vote" amendment, which is nothing more than an attempt to stop Brexit. Dominic Grieve MP has repeatedly stated that the UK should remain in the Customs Union and the Single Market, despite the fact that country has voted to leave the EU. Dominic Grieve MP does not represent his constituents and does not adhere to the manifesto on which he stood. He seeks to further her own beliefs and has attempted to derail the Brexit process and negotiations." I know we are only supposed to write to our own MP, but I think we LEAVE people should be flooding his email address to say what we think of him. [email protected] I got a reply from him: Thank you for your email. The only deal that has been secured by the Prime Minister bears little resemblance to the ideas expressed during the referendum campaign. The deal has also been rejected by Parliament as unsatisfactory. What should we do now? To crash out with no deal would be in my view a disaster for our country and is one I cannot therefore facilitate. My calls to return to the electorate and ask them if they want the deal therefore seems to me to be sensible. Nothing to do with him wanting to him wanting to suspend Article 50!!!!! What choice do I have but to be myself? Everyone else was already taken. Develop a nostalgia for the future - Maxwell Maltz MySoul |
