Same here Crunch.

Word on the street is if the comm's, internet, or power go out...it's time to SHELTER IN PLACE.

Don't even try to go to the store.

- MC
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77741752

I wouldn't wait for one of those signals. Feels to me like right now is the time to shelter in place. Bug in and be safe - we don't know what may transpire, but a lot of people are expecting false flags.

This week will be a turning point - we don't know yet in which direction - and it will mean trouble, no matter who is or seems to be on top. We are in dangerous territory, and home is the best place from which to observe whatever takes place. Home means comfort, safety, food, warmth, familiarity which will mean more and more as the days go by.

Please, everyone, do everything you can to remain safe.

Same here. Many people that I know are feeling that urge to prep for whatever it is that is coming.

I just keep slowly adding things as I can afford them, but I never feel prepared enough. Other than that, I am trusting God that He will see me through.
 Quoting: NOLAangel

Time to stop worrying about what you have not, NOLA, and find ways to maximize what you have. I feel it's time to stay in, bug in, shelter in place. No more shopping, even, as false flags may begin anywhere and everywhere, as well as panic buying, exposure to disease, etc.

Trust God is the right thing to do. He can make much where there was little, if you recall the fishes and loaves, among other things. I praise Him for having me prepared so early on, things I couldn't imagine ever needing that now have great importance, as well as foodstuffs, etc. Anything I don't have either I don't need or He has a way of repurposing or providing.

Great advice!

I've been praying for guidance because I'm lost as to what the hell is going on in the world. But faith in the Lord keeps me grounded and not filled with fear of the unknown.

He has never let me down before! I don't suspect He will now!

Nothing wrong with that. If you recall, He also said to sell your cloak and buy a sword - we are the head and not the tail - but trust Him as to when to use it, as do I.

I'm thankful for every person here in this thread, but have more hope for those whose faith is in their Creator than those who count on themselves alone. I pray for all of us, no matter what comes today, this week, and in the future, that we will all survive, thrive, and live to give all the glory to God.

Where has everyone been the past couple days? Hoping all is well among you.

Time to redouble efforts in preparedness, people. We are in trouble and need to be ready. Just consider the possibilities, read the headlines on the main page here, and prepare yourselves. Avoid covid while preparing, at all costs.

God help us all, and God save the Republic of the United States of America, if it can be done at this point.

Doubling efforts to get all prepared for the coming days/months (safely)
Have to get this fence up around our house ASAP. 150ft by 50 ft lot. Some of it is done but needs to be finished.

Hubby is beside himself over the course of the last few days.
Had hope but now doesn't think there is any.
I myself am saddened to see our country go down like this. Not enough peeps to see that this course is a sinking ship.
The slow train wreck is now careening over the edge.
I will still just live one day at a time and try to keep my speculations to a minimum and pray that hope is still on the horizon knowing God is in control. Put that armor of God on and stand up for what is right but stay low enough not to bring attention to me or my loved ones.
Age is a factor here and we don't plan on becoming activists or getting into any trouble. The future for our youth and grandkids are going to have a challenging future.

Much love to all. God bless~

Our place is 226 x 100. I have to remind myself daily to keep the gates locked.

It would be good to check the laws where you live regarding fences and gates, etc. Here in CA, a closed gate presents a 'challenge' to a would-be intruder. I guess the thought being that somebody would have to perform a conscious action (i.e., opening the gate) to enter the property.

I have found that logic does not apply to tweakers. So, my locked gates and bilingual 'no trespassing' signs should remove any doubt in the eyes of the law.

If somebody chooses to come onto my property, they are aware they are committing a crime.

I don't know how many of you have not read 'Unintended Consequences'.

It is a great book. Very synonymous with our current times.

Re: Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor
This property has had a fence around it for 20+yrs, so basically we are just replacing old rotted, weathered planks.
Unfortunately a project went belly up when the family crew ran out of funds to complete it leaving us with a gaping hole to the neighborhood who has decided to come in and take some stuff. Peeps in our area need to be shut out and shut out good. Can't wait to be able to let my pot belly pig run free cause she is very possessive of her territory. I would say about as good as a guard dog. I love it when she barks. LOL

Monitoring systems and motion lights will be going up as well.
Next door neighbors have already had a drive by shooting (unknown if anyone was killed) but by the cries of anguish that night, I would have to guess yes. Scared the bejeesus out of everyone here.

Definitely time to get a move on~

Just my 2 cents but if you're thinking about moving out to the country, even cheap little prepper cabins ought to have some sort of foundation. Especially if you plan to keep them near the top of a hill.
Just saying. This particular house travelled about 300 yards downhill over the course of a few days.

People, are you remembering to give green karma to the others in this thread who keep giving us good information and advice? I'm not seeing the evidence of it - remember Ktee giving all her green karma for pinning this thread on the front page? And all the others posting here for our benefit?

If you don't know how to give green karma, ask in the thread or send me a PM. Glad to help.

Also, please consider pinning us to the front page if you have the karma. I would do so but right now I'm saving karma to "pay" for my next month's membership so nobody has to spend their hard-earned money for my lack.

Again, if you don't know how to pin us to front page, just ask in whatever way you are most comfortable and I'll help you.

We need to be encouraging each other here, and in GLP as a whole, to be ready for whatever may come. Food shortages are a guarantee - watch Ice Age Farmer. If people do no more than prepare with food, they will be way ahead of what's coming. Food will pay more interest than a savings account, by far.

Please do the green karma thing for everyone who posts here and is not an AC - please? We all need the encouragement and some of us need the karma for other purposes.

Unfortunately...I can't do jack because I can't sign on. Not even give green karma.

But I can still share my ideas.

I've been thinking about easy meals for when TSHTF and shit on a shingle is a good one.

Brown the hamburger while covered...turn the fat & juice into gravy (maybe even add a can of mushroom soup)...put the hamb. back in & stir.

Serve it on toast or pour over mashed potatoes.
