Hey peeps~
Hope all are doing well.
I was going thru some videos and came across this one about what to put in a bug out bag.

I myself will not be bugging out so to say but if I Actually had to this information really got my attention.

The guy in the video really explains all the items really well and thought the 40 minutes was well worth it.

Much Love,
KTee~

Good job, Ktee! I won't be bugging out either, Lord willing. No place to go, no physical ability to go, and everything is right here. I'm just trusting God and however many angels He chooses to send.

Are you doing well? Everything looking up in your direction? Big hugs for you.

Thank you for posting this.

So far so good here.

Having to be mother K'hen while watching hubby's health. He's doing a lot better.
Taking up home remedies and hopefully will turn my brown thumb green to finally be able to grow my own herbs.
Bought a couple of books that will help immensely.

Hope you are doing well. Sending prayers for your health and well being.

Another supply chain port manager with warnings for us

One of World’s Largest Port Operators Warns Global Supply Chain ‘Crisis’ Will Last Longer Than Expected
BY JACK PHILLIPS October 4, 2021 Updated: October 4, 2021biggersmaller Print
The operator of one of the busiest ports in the world suggested that global supply chain bottlenecks will last for around two years.

Speaking to Bloomberg News, Dubai’s DP World Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem said he expects bottlenecks to continue until 2023. The issues will result in higher costs for shipping goods, he warned.

“The global supply chain was in crisis in the beginning of the pandemic,” Sulayem told the news outlet, adding that “freight rates will continue to increase.” And “maybe in 2023, we’ll see an easing,” he continued.

Some analysts and other port operators have said that supply chains are struggling to keep pace with demand and deal with labor disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lockdowns, and quarantines.

Sulayem’s DP World is one of the largest operators of marine ports and cargo terminals in the world, with hubs in Africa, India, Russia, Europe, and the Americas.

Just came across an interesting product mentioned on the Volcano thread.
I believe someone asked about how to remove metal toxins from water?
This product doesn't do that however it claims it removes toxins and heavy metals from the body.

Detoxing with Zeolite Pure includes the removal of toxic mercury dental amalgam contamination. Additional heavy metals targeted include other sources of mercury, lead, cadmium and arsenic. Radioactive isotopes such as barium, uranium, cesium, and others are also removed by doing this detox!

It is sold on Amazon.
Think it's worth doing some research on~

Thank you, KTee - you with the consistently wonderful posts and ideas!!

I remember zeolite from discussions on here a few years ago.

This was a question I had asked, being dependent on rain water after my storage is used up, but had forgotten all about zeolite.

Thank you bundles and glops!!! Love you!

Good to know your husband is improving! You've been fighting a long battle which I hope will soon be over! Your dedication must amaze everyone who observes your efforts!

Have you done all you can in terms of prepping outside of herbal remedies? I'd say all that comes first, but if you have acquired everything you need; water, food, tools, knowledge, preparations for grid down and a record cold winter, then I'd say go for it and have a great deal of fun with it!

Remember to keep taking care of yourself every day in order to keep doing all you do. Bless you!

Does everyone here have a means to keep track of time? I don't mean just a clock, but a timer of some sort, such as timing boiling water to safety. Oven timers is one, and there are others. I am fond of hourglass or sand timers - they appeal to me, and are trustworthy - no moving parts to wear out!

Continuation of another thread of wonderful people with the best ever ideas for practical prepping even for those with little money.

We'll also address the issues which may come up about "food stamps" and how to best manage without them, or with reduced amounts, or with partial box of food delivered with partial "food stamps".

We address power outage, heating and cooking methods, first aid, we run disaster scenarios to see if we know what to do.

This is probably the only prepping thread a person would need right now, whether long-time prepper here to share, or newbie prepper here to learn.

Welcome!! Join us and learn and teach and enjoy!!
 Quoting: Pooka

This thread might be a good place for me to put down this idea, OP. While I was sitting on the toilet about ninety minutes ago as of this post I was reading through a Diabetes booklet I have. I was also thinking about the inevitable collapse of American society, and all of Humanity shortly after the collapse of America. I realized that insulin has a definite shelf life. I actually thought the stuff could remain in cold storage for decades and room temperature for months straight. Nope... turns out the stuff is only viable in the best of circumstances for normally less than a month's time. Only the "best of the best" insulin lasts up to close to eighty days in the best of circumstances.

This means once the power grid is out, probably for months or years straight, Type 1 Diabetes are going to definitely die within about a month's time. Unless if there are a number of them who happen to have operational generators with the proper maintenance and fuel to last for years or longer and manage to secure a vast amount of insulin all Type 1 Diabetics will die within about a month's time. Type 2 Diabetics on the other hand will have a chance to eat healthier depending on where they're surviving and being willing to eat healthy foodstuff.

I could of sworn I heard of a plant in another GLP thread that is a natural form of insulin. If this is true this would be absolutely essential for Type 1 Diabetics to grow as much and often as possible during the later Christian Apocalypse Events.
 Quoting: darkwolf007

Type one diabetics, should all have a backup plan. Walmart carries The over-the-counter insulin that costs about $25 per vial is limited to two types of insulin:
Regular (insulin R)
NPH (insulin N) and it last over a year refrigerated. If you lose power you can always get a Medicine Freezer often called a Mini Fridge Portable Travel Case Diabetic Insulin Cooler Box. They run around $90.00 on eBay and are plug in, and battery operated.

Well here is a canary in the coal mine that just dropped dead!

Major storable food company ceases operations, US power grid blackouts to arrive
- Major power grid blackouts will occur this winter across the USA due to lack of coal and natural gas supplies, all tracking back to the libtard policies of "green energy" that have dismantled the power grid infrastructure across the USA, Europe and other nations. Full details in today's feature story and podcast.
- Food company Augason Farms just issued a letter to its suppliers, declaring it will "cease operations for 90 days," stating, "Augason Farms cannot fulfill any orders at this time." The company is having critical supply chain failures combined with extraordinary demand. This is happening across multiple supply chains.
The Dark Winter collapse is now accelerating. Use this weekend to acquire food, generators and other critical supplies. Everything is running out, and it's only the beginning.

TL;DR: Alcohol, compassion and Cooperation

Reading this thread, I brought preparedness up with my live in buddy. He was asking me to take him to the liquor store to buy beer after a long weekend of drinking too much. He was anxious and unhelpful. Probably ashamed, guilty, and defiant. A bit belligerent. His attitude is we'll be fine, and he'll go to Hawaii where he has a "friend.", or New Brunswick, where he has family.

So it seems alcohol will be an issue as they become belligerent and uncooperative, as they white knuckle it about halfway through day after an event.

A friend who expects an close alcoholic to perform might consider hiding some alcohol somewhere as part of preparedness. I called my prepared and non drinker friend to discuss this realization. My friend reminded me we have several craft beer places in our small town. So, problem solved?

Realize, even if you don't drink, there are many people who have an addiction, and going through withdrawal will make things less smooth when everybodies nerves are going to be stretched thin.

And frankly, aside from lying to our nice neighbours that "we don't have any food" when they come knocking, we are going to feel responsible to help our community.

We all have skills and products to share. Young people will be energetic and will hunt the mountains for psychedelic mushrooms to trade with(each other probably), because otherwise they have little to offer besides their physical fitness. I suggest they might be harnessed to work with Emergency Rescue teams.

And adults will provide safety and food, hunting, but maybe less fitness(just how do fat guys walk up that mountain for deer? we got fat, sorry, but there it is. When is the last time your fat hunter friend went hunting?) Give the rifle to the kid.

In the spirit of community, we should discuss our preparedness and what we have to bring to the table with each other. Being prepared is more than feeding oneself, it is thinking of our cooperative advantage.

If we do this now, and don't have to solve problems in a stressful time of emergency.

Water purification tablets are supposed to sit in the water for 4 hours before drinking...bleach for 30 minutes before drinking (that's what I had in mind when I bought the egg timer).

Re: Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor
So I have been worried for two years that the electric power would go out in winter, because if it does, my furnace will not work. I'm in north Idaho and it can get down to ten below zero from time to time. We have had several mild winters in recent years, but the Farmers Almanac says this will be a winter of RECORD BREAKING COLD in our area. So I started to worry again because it has already been going down to 27 degrees at night and we're still in the first half of October. I have a gas insert installed in my fireplace but it, too, has an electrical component and would not work if there were an EMP or CME or a te**o*ist act that shut down the electric grid.

Last year I got an estimate to have a nifty wood burning stove insert installed into my already existing chimney, and it would cost $5,000. I asked my dad if he would consider lending me the money and he said, wow that's a lot. I asked my sister and she couldn't understand why I would worry about such a thing. So I have done without, but the fear of the cold is always at the back of my mind.

But today I came up with a solution. I had been thinking of refinancing my mortgage while the rates are still low. So I called my original mortgage company today and the loan officer said she can get my mortgage payment down to $110 a month less while at the same time pulling $20,000 cash out of my equity so I can afford to install the wood stove insert and pay off my $15,000 maxed credit card.

I'm not sure why it never occurred to me that I could manage it this way, but I wanted to share this as a possibility in case anybody is panicked about finances at the moment. The upfront fees for the refinance are getting wrapped into the new mortgage, so I will not be out of pocket for any expenses, I'll be paying $110 less per month on my mortgage, my $250 monthly payment on my maxed out credit card goes away (I will close out the account), and I'll have my wonderful new wood stove so I can sleep peacefully without fear of freezing to death. All in all, it was a great day.

There is a reason for social drinking, it smooths out the interpersonal interactions. And some people get crabby when they can't have their drink, so yes, initially it would help smooth things out as long as you don't hand them the whole bottle. I lived with an alcoholic husband for five years and I swear he couldn't thing of anything other than getting his fix of alcohol every night. He would just go into a rage if anything interfered. He, however, being a true alcoholic, never wanted to stop. So I think the smarter way to handle it is to start distancing yourself from alcohol addicts and let them go find someone else to bother...we will need all our wits about us in the days to come.

Another truly frightening prospect is the amount of people in this country who are on (mostly) prescription anti-depressants. When their stash runs out, we are in for a world of hellish drama. SSRI's have a strong correlation to mass gun events. [link to libertarianinstitute.org (secure)] [link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

Choose your friends carefully. I just dumped someone who has drama queen bully tendencies and narcissistic traits. She has oodles of herbal skills, and prepping and bushcraft knowledge, but she is also competitive and insecure. Kicked her to the curb after she displayed some scary and complex behavior. There will be enough drama from the events of the day without having shit stirrers in your inner circle.

Some data on anti-depressant usage:

Key findings

Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

During 2015–2018, 13.2% of adults aged 18 and over used antidepressant medications in the past 30 days. Use was higher among women (17.7%) than men (8.4%).
