Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor

Freezer bags.

You put stuff in resealable plastic bags and it will get freezer burn.

But you buy resealable freezer bags with Chinese food or berries or different things.

AND THEN YOU THROW AWAY PERFECTLY GOOD RESEALABLE BAGS THAT WON'T GET FREEZER BURN!

Check out the returns stores....I frequent one that has returned merchandise from Amazon and Walmart...I find shit tons of prep items at very low prices.....a few of my finds are:

-2 Sawyer water filters for $2.00

-AR-15 Armorer's wrenches for $3 ea

-HKS speedloader for $1

-A wood burning gassifier stove for $5

-Tourniquets for $1

-Surefire cr123batteries for $3 a box

-8 x 10 Nylon tarps for $3

way to much to mention, some of the items I bought in quantity to give away to friends....I visit the store every week....they charge by the day for pricing....$7 is the highest price for any item in the store and the prices drop daily as the stuff is picked thru....I'm hooked....most of the shoppers there are ebay or online seller getting stuff to sell....look for ths type of store in your area...

I've been prepping for a year. I have a lot of canned goods emergency food supply with 24 year life on it. I'm poor. I still got what I need. Sardines are a great item to stock, canned meats, all sorts of goodies out there you can save up.

Any news on pooka?

SHe went to the hospital for something 4+ months ago and hasn't returned...but she still has a gold star? I dunno.

if you want to prep, be sure you focus on being stealth as keeping what you have is only way to survive.

Just thought I'd add this little tidbit since I've never seen it before. This item would be perfect for bugout bugs since they take up very little room compared to the normal sized item.

Gas treatment to remove water from gasoline.

$1.25 at DOLLAR TREE.

When a hurricane hits, people buy up gas. That means the gas that gets sold is at the bottom of the tank.

This happened to me.

I bought gas for the generator and it had water in it. A lot of water.

I put a screw with rubber washer in the bottom of clear 2 quart juice container (cranberry).

You put the gas in the container and the water conveniently goes to the bottom. Then you can drain the water from the bottom.

Once you have removed the bulk of the water, then you can add the treatment per instructions.

If you just suspect a small amount of water, just use the treatment as specified.

400’ private well with water that tastes good and has no chlorine or fluoride
Aerobic septic system that meets all codes
Hunting with air rifles permitted. I slaughtered and processed my own beef cows here
Small town of 1800 with no crazy politics where you can know the Mayor, City Council, and police personally
Good schools and almost zero crime

I bought this place when I still had to commute to Houston daily.

Now, I am fully retired and moving to the mountains for my health

I had a problem with poison ivy when I first bought this farm.

A good organic herbicide is vinegar.

You can buy a 55 gal drum of acetic acid that is food grade. That will make a LOT of pickled food. Dilute to make the herbicide.

at some frantic point of abuse

just couldn't dream up a solution without going into a psycotic rage of undignified rebellion to perform any such type of home ec style menial chore

practice and keep some device to fish the strings back out
on the go
or suffer it
or ditch it all
and fix yer big-boy pants in advance
cause a 12h a day construction workers atire
failed instantly
and was utterly at the verge of ruin by 2 yrs.

I inherited one from my semi-prepper mom. The ignitor doesn't work, but I use a lighter or match.
The butane canisters are cheap now. I just bought four for $7.99 at an independent Chinese tool store.
The units are clean and simple. Mine is made by Max Burton.
