Glad i saw this thread! What I am wondering about is if it all goes down, what I'll do about my hypothyroidism meds. Most hypo is caused by a lack of iodine, but i was born with it so Idk if thatd be sufficient for me...

I am in same boat as you and I have no answer. I just get my prescription filled for 3 months at a time which is cheaper.

If it fits in with your belief system, find yourself a good yoga teacher, ie one who knows what they're talking about. There is a particular yoga asana (position)that is very helpful for people with an under-performing thyroid. It is NOT for use by folk whose thyroid is over actice as it 'revs up' the gland.

You can find a reputable teacher by looking at the various regulatory bodies in your country, or go direct to the source and look up some of the teaching ashrams in India, most of whom have teachers world wide.

None of you who are on in early mornings care enough to use ten of your green karma points to pin this thread on the front page? I am up very late and don't arise early enough for my pinning to be worth much on the east coast, which is where more of us live. Wish people would take turns doing it as often as it's allowed per week. I think three times - not sure.

Sadly, one of the local Christian bookstores has announced that they will begin a going out of business sale next week. I've bought some hydrotherapy texts from the Drs. Thrash in the past and will be looking for similar books. God bless, I took a course in NY in hydrotherapy and have used the basic precepts ever sense. Although I can't prove it, I believe that I had Covid19 in January and the action that I took based on their books saved me.

Edit: The application of hot and cold water has an immense effect on disease. I've used it for years to clear up infections and recommend it to anyone. Such a simple way to health and such an obscure way to get there....

I believe it would.

I'm not really a beer drinker but when I want one...I want one that actually tastes like beer!

But there ain't nuttin like hotdogs and brats boiled in it! I also use it to make beer cheese soup...then I add bacon bits & more cheese to make it into a beer cheese with bacon fondue.

Then I might turn that into a mac N cheese (using tortellini) banana2

Please tell us more about this method, and about you perhaps having covid yourself - hate to think of it! I was just watching a video about all the after-effects on people.

Christian book store shutting down - of course it is - anything Christian is unwanted and unwelcome these days and that's so wrong - people just don't get Who is actually in charge and Who is their only hope.

Running all the good shops of all kinds out of business so the corporations get more - cuz they don't have enough, you see. People gave up everything, including life savings and everything they could borrow, to start a small, family-run store or shop. Now they have lost everything, every last thing they had or hoped to have, plus they owe a great deal, all because of craziness and selfishness and misplaced admiration. We are in real trouble. Thank God a few of us are prepared for what's coming. No point in trying to tell people any m ore - better not to say a word which would alert anybody to what you have and are doing. Just pin this thread and hope they "get it".

Drs. Agatha and Calvin Thrash best book is Home Remedies: Hydrotherapy, massage, charcoal and other simple treatments. They go into detail about the effects of hot and cold water but what you need to remember is that hot water is initially soothing but becomes stimulating, cold water is initially stimulating but becomes soothing.

Back at the beginning of January I went to work feeling fine, by noon I could feel that I had a fever and went home. Instead of fighting the fever, I took a hot shower and covered up under lots of blankets. Spent 4 days there. Every time I became lucid I would drink lots of water. The symptoms were consistent with Covid19, I'm type A blood. I didn't know at that time that I might be dealing with the virulent virus but my office had 7 of 12 people come down with the same thing. I'm called patient zero there. I tell them that whatever doesn't kill them makes them stronger and that you are welcome.

I just looked up Home Remedies on Amazon and dang! Didn't realize it was such a hot commodity. If you run across it somewhere at a good price, pick it up. It's one of the few alternative medicine books that isn't asking you to buy some proprietary device/pill.

thanks to the corona thing i "learned" to plan food shoppijng and started caring more about how long stuffs good for.
switched from fresh bread to crackers and loads of other stuff.
now i could not leave the house for a month and still have nice food and snacks every day.
where i used to pretty much do groceries every day to get whatever i was feeling like at the time.

saves a lot of money too, plus time.

also im still only half way the toilet paper i bought in February.

i wonder how much Trinity has left still lol

Re: Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor
Pooka, its so good to see you and this thread again.

I have been prepping like crazy adding more garden space.

If I could recommend ONE survival plant to provide calories when times get tough, it would be the squash family. Pumpkins and some winter squash will keep for up to a year after harvest without refrigeration.

I need to learn how to post photos. My cucuzza squash (sseds from Westwind) is growing at an incredible pace. I planted along fence lines and the vines are covering the fences now.

The leaves are up to a foot across and shading out the weeds. The fruits two months after planting are around 2 feet long and up to 2 inches diameter.

Since its actually in the gourd family, the bugs and diseases that attack squash don't do anything to cucuzza.

BTW, the leaves are edible and can be cooked as well.

I planted 5 kinds of green beans. Found out later that the USDA recommends Blue Lake variety for my area, and, OH BOY, did the Blue Lake produce! A small patch provides about a pound of green beans per day. The other varieties are not producing much. Will replace them.

Advice to newbs: Find the USDA list for your county, buy those seeds, and get started. Concentrate on "low demand" stuff that does not require rich soil.

My soil is poor, but green beans, sunflowers, okra, pumpkins, melons, cucuzza, corn, etc. don't seem to care. However, they DO take a lot of area. E.g., my melon patches are 12 feet across and the vines are taking over the remaining lawn.

I also recommend rotating chickens through multiple garden areas. My richest soil was a chicken yard before. I planted my "high demand" veggies there and they are doing great.

I got 17 free 55 gal. chemical drums from my company. Don't worry; they had non-toxic stuff like hydrochloric acid before. Easy to wash out. I used a number of them for potatoes and sweet potatoes.

The Queen used store-bought taters in hers. Fungus killed them after initial growth.

I bought seed potatoes from Park Seed. Mine are pathogen-free and doing great.

So, plant a variety of stuff and something will survive.

Of all survival skills, I rate gardening near the top.

Hibiclens is good stuff. 4% chlorhexidine solution. Disinfects skin for days.

You can buy chlorhexidine solution at farm/feed stores for a fraction of the cost of Hibiclens.

Water Bottles:

save all the plastic soda bottles through out the year. wash and rinse, air dry. when it comes time to fill um up, fill with filtered water from your kitchen sink, place
2 drops of bleach per quart or liter of water.
8 drops per gallon of water.
16 drops per 2 gallons of water.
1/3-teaspoon per 4 gallons of water.
2/3-teaspoon per 8 gallons of water.

[link to www.superprepper.com (secure)]

no need to freak out and run to the store and panic buy water.
besides, the soda bottles are heavy plastic, not like those cheap ass water bottles you buy.
