Re: Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor
I live South of Houston in Brazoria County. Warm, semi-tropical climate. The Queen brought some Moringa seeds from the Old Country.

I planted them down by our pond. They die every Winter when it freezes and some recover and grow from the roots.

I asked my wife, "Is Moringa really healthy?"

She replied, "Yes, my Grandfather put it in his pineapple wine and drank it every day."

I asked, "Well, was he healthy?"

She said, "He was 109, got drunk, and fell off his horse. That's what finally killed him".

Other family member confirm the story.

She cooks Moringa leaves with my eggs every morning. Don't think I will make it to 109, but you never know.
 Quoting: darth

Love it!! Make it to age 100 and then we can talk about a few more years!

Bring a couple moringa plants indoors for the winter!

This is an "advertorial" but it might have some information helpful in diabetes after SHTF. Has to do with eggs and cinnamon. Best wishes to all with diabetes!

When I was a child, I had a Nanny that was from Trinad. If she didn't have insulin available she would cut a stalk of celery from the inner part about 4 inches long, wash it well, place it in a small glass or jar, fill the glass about 1/3 full with water that had been boiled and let to cool, place it in the refrigerator un-covered. After 3-4 days she says the liquid becomes natural insulin. Take orally.

What a treasure you have! A natural remedy book that actually uses natural remedies! Does it address anything that might specifically prevent covid-19 components? Challenge to lungs, maybe?

So happy you recovered from being very ill. "Every time I became lucid" is very frightening! Thank the Good Lord you had those times, which led you to rehydrating in a big way. Otherwise . . .

Laughing at you being Patient Zero, though it is not actually amusing. So dangerous, this stuff. What you did is obviously exactly the right thing. Glad your co-workers also recovered.

Thank you for sharing this. Each of us should commit your experience to memory, just in case.
 Quoting: Pooka

There is no doubt in my mind that God Almighty had a purpose for me to survive this. I've been sick in my time but never like that. To lead me to know to embrace the fever, to have fluids nearby, to have taught me to hydrate... too many people died without this guidance. It's okay to laugh at me, I joke at myself. Many years ago I had the honor to be taught hydrotherapy at a school in New York. I hated the cold water treatments. But now I realize how important it is to stimulate our immune systems in the way that is needed. We all need to learn how to be medics in the upcoming crisis.

Like many drugs, Metformin is an analog of a natural molecule found in Goat's Rue.

Hippocrates knew about it.

According to one source I read on the main Wuhan Virus thread, the virus is killing about 10% of diabetics.

If I was diabetic I would be putting a priority on getting healthier.

People, this is the time to take care of your fire extinguishers.

Fireworks time, the Fourth of July, is a good time to remember caring for your personal firefighting equipment as extinguishers and quantities of baking soda, hoses connected, etc.

Now we have the threat of "demonstrators" attacking suburbs and country areas with fire and other means of assaulting and burning us out.

Check the extinguishers you have, and purchase more if needed. Kitchen of course. Garage. In your vehicle. By your doors prepared to run to extinguish flames outside if going out is safe.

These are wise precautions. Hope we all take them! Quickly!

I was in no way laughing at you nor at your extreme methods which saved you! I merely laughed at coworkers calling you "Patient Zero" because you were the first one ill in your office.

What you did was amazing. I suspect the rehydration was the greatest key. I know many people say, in reference to multiple illnesses, that they pulled up all the covers and "sweated it out". I don't know that I could do that, or would even think to do that. The automatic reaction to being too warm is to toss off the coverings, and I think that is what I would do, unless the fever was so high that it expressed itself in "chills".

I'm thankful you had the pleasure of being taught the use of hydrotherapy in illness, so that you were able to save yourself in this extreme case!

Yes, we likely must be our own medics very soon, and I hope many of us remember what you taught us in this post, so that we can save ourselves.

Thank you for sharing with us all that you experienced!

Liquid bandage, Liquid resin (latex) obtained from the Croton lechleri tree. Because of its beneficial properties on the healing of wounds and preventing scar tissue, Sangre de Drago is an essential tool for a Kambo practitioner. Applied to the burns upon conclusion of the ceremony, Sangre de Drago protects the healing burn by covering it with an antibacterial layer. When dried up it completely closes the wound. Taspine is the active alkaloid responsible for the wound healing and antibacterial effect. More information below.

I was thinking of ordering a bottle, as I often have lupus skin issues, but found that even with the cheapest shipping, it would be $38!! That's a bit high for an experiment on my budget, unfortunately.

Any other, closer or less expensive, source?

Thank you for this!! I can easily understand why coming very, very harsh times would be terrifying for a diabetic, both in losing the medications they require daily to live, and for worries of injuries, even the severe stubbing of a toe, which could lead to death in only a couple steps.

Thank you, Darth - you are a storehouse of information, similar to others we are blessed with in this thread. Please don't lose us again! We need you here!

I cut myself (I have kind of cat claw little toenails) using sharp scissors. So...the same day I got it, I got to use it. If didn't foam much but after letting it (the cut) bleed out for a minute or so, I licked off the blood and applied the Dragons Blood. holding fast...so it is the correct stuff, didn't want to not try it (well actually I would have preffered not to but hey, that is the way God works. SO that is the cheapest I have found, plus it works. Woot! 1 small drop. in 50mls you get enough to do one heck of a lot of small wounds. I'll figure out the IBS stuff later.

What a synchronous event! Sorry you cut yourself but how perfect to use the substance immediately!

I agree lots of wounds would be covered by the order, but the budget is the budget!

Now stop cutting yourself!

Thanks.

My trees appear to be 'American Sycamore', judging by the leaves and seed pods.

There are some uses identified for the 'inner bark', but it is the 'outer bark' I was curious about. The trees shed lots of it yearly.

Useful as kindling, maybe.

 Quoting: Mbeee 78884149

Remarkable!! How did she determine how much to take?

Thank you very much for this post, and welcome here! Please do stay, and post more as well as read for your own information and help for the future.

Man is this turning into a GREAT growing season banana2

The garlic is garlicing...the tomatoes are tomatoing...the hops are hopping...even my monster hedge that blocks out the world has turned into godzilla!

I've had to cut the chives twice now & let them go to waste because I didn't need them (and another cut because I did need them). Already harvested about $20 worth of top quality cilantro & put it in the freezer.

Kudos!! That is such good news. Soo glad you have the knack to grow and produce what you need.

Me on the other hand is going to have to get professional help. Never had any luck growing anything at all.
