WA state and Florida are about as far apart as is possible to be in the conus, and I would probably not hurry to be in the midst of hurricane country, timid about it as I am!

If you check out Kratky method on YT, you will find you would only need a space to place one bucket - which can often be gotten for free or a nominal sum - I get mine - or used to - from the Walmart bake shop. A place for that bucket in good light and you are golden. Grow away. Because you are in such a warm climate, you could grow by this method outside. Set buckets on stumps, patches of ground, wherever. One bucket equals one plant which goes on producing. Grow anything you enjoy, from lettuce to cucumbers to kale to tomatoes to all sorts of greens and everything in between. This guarantees you healthy food to go with your preps, extending them exponentially as well as increasing your survival energy and life expectancy.

In case I sound besotted over the Kratky method, I frankly am. It is miraculous in my view to have discovered this, as I am incompetent at wiring, connecting plumbing, and everything that is required for ordinary hydronics. I'd long been interested in the subject, but knew it was not for me to accomplish. Then finding Kratky - whoaa!!! Miracle of miracles! Hoping everyone here will have a look and give it a try. Could save some lives - perhaps even your own!
