just wanted to thank everyone for all the great ideas.

Our family have been gardeners for as far back as we can trace. From sharecroppers to landbarons and everything in between. My parents and my generation have been growing ornamentals for the past 40 years. Very profitable.

This year we started early indoors and have dedicated a half acre to FOOD. Will put up another greenhouse next week to prep for winter crop. We just started our second grow and it looks great. May get three crops of corn this year. Fantastic growing year.

Please if at all possible at least attempt growing some greens in containers. You will be surprised at how fast you can sprout and grow microgreens and start over in same container. The kids love to help and even my severely disabled daughter has a ball helping plant seeds and watering chores. Seeing pride in her eyes is a great bonus as well.

I have noticed that foliar feeding is producing incredible results this year. Can literally watch the veggies grow in front of your eyes. Not sure if it's the weather/climate or the new fish emulsion and goat poo tea I am trying this year.

Here is a hint. One of our aquarium filters went out a few months ago. Didn't have funds to replace at time so had to clean tank twice weekly. This gives me 180gals of plant water with natural fertilizer a week and all the plants love it. Lot of work and luckily we have 3 wells here so aquarium water is plentiful.
