Corn does not do well at transplanting, even from little things where you started it inside. You could make cups from newspaper, or use those little cups made to plant in the ground, and start that excellent corn indoors, to see what will germinate, before taking up landscape with it.

As first - I have dibs on some of that corn seed, perhaps half a dozen, if it does well and you get to the seed-saving point. We have pretty short seasons here, and not very warm generally, so corn can be a difficulty. Would love just a few ears of my own home-grown.
