Public debate has generally avoided the use of the words "Liberal," Leftist" and "Leftwinger," much less delving into their true nature. Not totally sure why that is. But probably much of that is due to many people becoming leery about probing the biases of others and themselves too candidly. Similar to talking about their hidden drug addiction or crazy aunt in the attic.

American can no longer afford people talking so vaguely and generically.
