And I do have a piano and a cello but not the time or money. Age is just a number, have fun! ANIMAL FRIEND "All creatures are created from the same paternal heartbeat of God. Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission--to be of service to them wherever they require it. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men." -St. Francis of Assisi "The greatness of a nation and it's moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated." -Gandhi Thread: Top 10 Opera Auditions (My Music Thread) |

User ID: 76959999 United States 02/01/2019 02:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Do you think its possible for somebody in middle age to learn the piano? Quoting: Agent Smith 2014 Do you have any advice? Will i need to learn the scales and most chords, or will i just need to memorize the piece? Of course it's possible. I would recommend starting with a beginners piano book such as Keyboard Musicianship, Piano For Adults, book one. [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] or Adult All-In-One Course [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] You're also going to want to learn at the very least basic music theory. I learned through the book "Harmony & Theory" [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] you could probably learn online, but you'd want to be sure it's a good comprehensive program that's logical in it's introduction of material. When you buy a piano book, make sure it comes with a CD which will include recording of the pieces you will be learning. Listen to them and get them in your ear before you try to learn them on the instrument, this will help tremendously. Also make sure you have a metronome or app. Last Edited by Make Free Speech Great Again on 02/01/2019 03:07 PM The real trick is to learn to think critically; ask better and more questions. Don't accept anything at face value. Be sure you're making healthy decisions, getting adequate rest and spending proper time reflecting on things. |
