If you ignore them...they DO actually go away.

He is for the elderly but it will take more of congress to make changes.

Yes, we are old too, we are supposed to quietly die off and disappear.

I won’t do that, you make do with what you have, and be grateful. Stay in shape so you don’t fade away too fast. We can’t turn into the grumpy old people we hated being around when we were younger. Keep your sense of humor, don’t let anyone take that from you.

Double dipping is what happened to us, until it turned to

back in the olddays the Republicans would, when they got back in office, refunded the money the Democrats stole from us, but they did not do that this time.

I worked and I saved money. I guess you think the government should pay for your nursing home care also?

I watched the whole Speech, the elderly was behind The President and to the right.

There were a few hundred in front of him, too!

Not one of them said, "Hey, take care of me because I never took responsibility for myself."

I know of elderly people and they are doing just fine. If your roof leaks then fix it, if your front door is broken fix it yourself. Stop thinking the government owes you a handout when you clearly bite the hand that literally feeds you.
Judging by your attitude, even if he had mentioned the elderly you would've used it to say 'well he mentioned us but he won't do anything, just empty words and promises...'
There are SEVERAL programs for the elderly in this Country and not to mention social security.

My husband after a long illness of COPD and horrible, nightmare euthanasia, died, leaving me with grief, Then I fell and was incapacitated due to the injury coupled with the grief, joint pain, bills a trashed house, which, originally, I had purchased and practically had to rebuild, because it was an Amish house: no plumbing, electric and so on. So, yes, I needed emergency, govt, help. I couldnot even walk or think.- and I was older than old, and weak, disabled and had/have congestive heart failure, and too old to get a job (all I had was my SS, which means I DID take responsibility for my old age, plus, had bought a house with no mortgage, which YOU slandered that I hadnot done, "responsibility for myself"). And then things got worse, and they tossed me into an insane asylum, no relative help, and iam only just 2 years later, beginning to see daylight at the end of the nightmare tunnel, but no cash money for the tornatoed roof I was traumatized to the max, and ready to meet my maker.

Today, I, too, watched and LISTENED to all of Trump's message, and repeat: He did not make even a peep about the elderly, not even a Hello ! Hoping for a sign of hope n his message, we were totally
shunned. NOT A SINGLE WORD of recognition nor hope. After posting all day, I lost nights upon nights of sleep getting him into that White House, beating down nasty-mouthed demonicreeps. and iam a professional flamer, no one could beat me, because during the Internet Flame Wars, flaming lessons were offered, and I took those lessons. I flattend them all, never lost a war. Talkbizar, the writers, among many others, was totaled. No one won at the Flame Wars, we all just learned how to cuss and use the f-word with shocking style and grace.

I saw all kinds of old asses in that crowd whether they be on the clock or totally clocked out.

In all seriousness, OP, I respect my elders and look out for them. Depend on your community, not your govt. At 90 years old I don't know how you don't know that yet. Hell. I learned that at 20.

Right now they are murdering babies after they are born that take a little higher priority.

I support your complaints. They are totally valid. Everyone would like elderly people to just go away. Yet we supported SS all our working lives. When I hear hateful young people talking down their noses about ‘entitlement’ programs it makes me angry. Some of us really are entitled to benefits.
