Software to update my phone to 5G...Do I do it??

That's what I would think, but got a notice saying there was a software update that would enable my phone for 5G. If it pops up again I will get a screenshot.

Shh..It already knows you just said Shazzam! I'm logged into Google..Not a safe word now..just sayin..

Is there somewhere I can see what the update is without having to continue? Went to settings. I have a galaxy S8. I'll take a screenshot.

Lol..I really want to..just to see..I'd do my duty..and report back with any ill effects. My thinking is if they have an update for 5G, 5G is probably already operating in my area, so I've... been exposed.. the update isn't going to change anything. I'm actually more concerned if this is legit or not. Could I have been hacked? I don't trust all updates.

There are literally NO 5G capable phones for sale yet. And they won't be for sale until late this year at the earliest, and 5G will only be in big cities dense population areas for a LONG time.

OP, do you have a Motorola Z3? I have one and they call it the world's first 5G compatible cell phone. It needs a piece of Hardware slapped onto the back of it - the 5G modem.

And is there even 5G service available in your area? If not then there's no point in getting it on your phone.

Android 8.0 Oreo already intentionally destroyed battery life on phones.

I don't really know if it was intentional but the software has gotten worse and now some really good phones are becoming unusable.

I'm staying on Android 7. At least I can keep everything dark on this OS and get more than 3 hours screen time.

Can't post a screenshot, but this popped up. I'm not doing it. Now the question is, how do I deny the darn thing? Last update showed up several times and then did it by itself. I don't want this..
