Great Show! Project BlueBook on the History Channel

For those who don't know what Project Blue Book was...

it was the USAF's investigation into UFO's from 1952-1969, lead by Dr. J Allen Hynek. The Airforce concluded UFO's posed no threat to national security.




It's 6 episodes in the first season (out of 10), and was just signed for a second season a few days ago.

It's a great watch, imho.

They use actual cases and tie in claims Dr. Hynek made about the Air Force hiding information, etc from him, with the usual tv show suspense added, and... The MIB...

His character in the show is more naive, imo than the real Dr. Hynek. The AirForce picked Hynek because he was a huge skeptic. It wasn't until years into his studies did he begin to suspect something other worldly going on.

By the end of his investigation he determined there was an unknown phenomenon happening, that needed further investigation, and he disagreed with the AF's conclusion.

He started the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) in 1972 and spent the rest of his life as a prominent ufologist.
