Flooded roads and mudslides accompany heavy rain as Monster Atmospheric river slams California

Flash Flood Warning, Orange, Riverside, San Bernadino Counties.

The conditions this storm is running on is like the Great Lakes area when they have 'lake effect' snow. Huge amounts in a narrow path.
The air coming from Alaska is cold and dry and as it goes around Hawaii and back to the US mainland it picks up as much moisture that air at the same temp as the water can pick up. When it hits land it has to rise and any rise makes it colder so it snows. the snow chills the ground so it snows even harder. With the air over the mountains being -30 there will be no moisture left in the air so the coast will get it all.

My Alberta forecast looks to be about the same for the next 2 weeks so that big low is nit going to move east very far or very fast and the cold it pulls air of the north will be just as cold.
