Without a body the spirit if full of perversion. Did not Christ himself tell you out of the abundance of the heart proceeds nothing but evil? This is why when you pass away if you do not have a host (body) awaiting, your spirit is snatched by forces agreeable and conducive to its nature, i.e., HELL. Noah's ark is the symbol of this. The ark is the host or body the spirit inhabits upon release from the human corpus. Nearly all humanity is doomed because nearly all have not produced an ark while they are alive.

I can’t agree with man having a conscious immortal spirit. Spirit goes back to the creator who gave it.
