However, it is not technologically "advanced" to build a pyramid with todays standards. It just takes a lot of horsepower. Religion allowed people to live together under a system of common values and beliefs long enough to learn new skills such as a written language, architectural advancement, scientific advancement, development of the arts and just about every other advancement to benefit humanity.
