If 3 Dems voted for it and all Republicans kept rank, WHICH 3 Republicans didn't vote?! [ link to thehill.com (secure)] Senate Democrats blocked legislation on Monday meant to respond to a political firestorm sparked in Virginia over "late-term abortion." [ link to www.politico.com (secure)] "The vote split mainly along party lines, 53-44. Democratic Sens. Bob Casey, Doug Jones and Joe Manchin crossed the aisle to vote for it and no Republicans broke ranks. Sixty votes were required for the bill to advance." Republicans controlled all three branches of government. Why would this suprise anyone?...and the Supreme Court never challenges existing court cases (Roe vs. Wade).
