That time I was invited to become a mage
I'm not going to drag this out as I have better things to do, so here it all is...

It was on the night in which I had been raised to the sublime degree of a master mason. After returning home and finally getting to sleep the most vivid dream then ensued. I found myself in what appeared like a large crystalline cavern of some sort. I felt underground and confined to the space itself. I do remember that the space seemed squared in its large proportions. In its center was a great gulf, seemingly bottomless, but certainly filled with immense emptiness. This chasm divided the room equally, with a crystal bridge spanning the midst that was fairly narrow and thin in its center, with thickness building at the roots of each end toward the depths below.

On the opposite side of the cavern then appeared what looked to be an older white gentleman with a short grey beard. He was wearing a white robe and on his head was some sort of large headdress of the style often seen in your average depiction of an Egyptian Pharaoh complete with blue and green beaded necklace. In one of his hands he held a gold and blue was-scepter with what seemed a golden animal head adorning its end. It perplexes me that I can't remember which animal it was. He also had an ankh in his other hand.

After taking in the strangeness of the moment, he said to me, "Do you want to become a great mage?" I hesitated to respond and he said, "Know this will only be offered to you once upon your journey." Without hesitation I then said to him, "I live to serve the Lord God of Heaven and serve him only!" Upon hearing my response, his face turned horribly angry and raising the scepter towards me suddenly what appeared to be lightning like strands of power began to strike my body repeatedly from its end. Strangely I felt nothing and he seemed highly irritated that I did not cower in fear and pain. At this, I remember feeling immediate compassion upon the man, and I knew he was just a man. I then remember somehow knowing to pull from within my spirit upon all of the forking bolts impacting upon me with love for the man, and in doing so, his scepter flew across the room and into my hand. I remember his face changing from anger and frustration to one of dread and fear. I then walked across the bridge and smiling, handed him back the scepter. After this he disappeared and I woke up with the most elated feeling I had experienced up to that point in my life.

In the days and years that have followed, I went on to become master of that lodge in which I was raised and leader of other groups, but found the struggle for knowledge in those circles to be lacking the Truth and certainty I felt when I loved that man in my dream, and so I no longer darken those doors. When I think about it, its the same Truth I feel when I hug my family or a good friend from days past and present.

Do you think I made a mistake?

Then ask yourself "What is Truth?" I saw that Jesus didn't answer when asked this. This used to mystify me but no longer. I know now that he found it in himself. If the Abrahamic crew as you called it is wrong, then the foundation laid is in error and I and others are indeed to be pitied.

I'm still searching, just not asking the original questions anymore. Maybe that is what eternity will be. A continuous stream of new experiences leading to new questions with new answers.

Yes. Another reason I posted hoping there are others with a similar experience to add some color here and there. In thinking about your observation, maybe it is similar to how you are only a virgin until you are not and can't return to the previous state. The purity of the answer given has weight based on knowledge up and to the time of the offer given perchance.

Did I swear an oath? You can't see the forest for the trees it seems. You've done the same if you said the pledge of allegiance. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever spoken a harsh word? Careful where you tread

I no longer believe in operating in secret. The Truth is in the open. You must choose however. The difference is now there will be a price to the choice we make. You will not be able to hide it much longer. It is said that at first, the natives could not see the ships in which the Spanish arrived upon. Their form was just beyond their perception and understanding. Who can know unless you were there, however I believe we do not see most of what exists. Enlightenment comes in great leaps.

truth is The Way of nature, open source.

keeping secrets is closing or forking the source and then closing it.

when I asked to see in writing what I would have to swear upon (the masonic oath) the man acting as a mason lied to me saying he would bring it to me.

The difference is now there will be a price to the choice we make.
 Quoting: LivingSoul

had the source not been closed before us, there would be no choice.

You will not be able to hide it much longer.
 Quoting: LivingSoul

'they' will not be able to keep it closed. actually they realize now what a mistake it was I think and so a soft disclosure is happening now but only for those who seek it.

It is said that at first, the natives could not see the ships in which the Spanish arrived upon. Their form was just beyond their perception and understanding. Who can know unless you were there, however I believe we do not see most of what exists. Enlightenment comes in great leaps.

there should have never been the darkening ages.

Ive considered they how and whys they initially forked the open source codes of nature. its a very deep subject, I do not blame or hold resentment towards them for it though.

so the only real choice we have about it IMO is to forgive them or not.

that oath was indeed a mistake, I forgive you and I also think your decision to no longer operate as an agent for the closed source is quite honorable FWIW

No not at all. What I was referring to was the fact that most critics focus in on that secret societies and all that take an oath of secrecy/allegiance, etc. My point is that if you stop and think, any close knit organization usually has something similar. Oaths, creeds, non disclosure agreements...all those things. Its all the same. That in mind, they will then say, did you take an oath as some sort of litmus test to then like clockwork dispense their truth from a moral high ground they think they are standing on. It just gets old. But I do understand, its just they are looking in the wrong direction sadly.
