I think the use off the word "we" sort of negates your whole premise, because it makes you inclusive with the collective. Many people "need" a leader, they need a chief, they need a king, it might be genetic. You sure you want to say "we"?

Etymology of leadership: two roots of the word lead, one describes the metal from Indo-European "flow" (as in melted state), the other lead dates back to prehistoric times which derived from laitho, meaning way or journey, from which comes the english word load. Etymologically then, lead from which we get leader means; cause to go along one's way.
In the 1400's it meant first place. In the 1560's however it was considered to be a low, despicable word.
I think they had it just about right in the 1560's!

Also lead is highly poisonous if injested, even small amounts over a long period of time if it gets into your system will cause great harm, and so too a leader?
