Economic Collapse - For the first time I am truly worried

I have been in the freight business for over 30 years. Been through many ups and downs. Felt like Trump could save the day.

Things were going great, then the FED hit Trump with 7 interest rate hikes, the fighting and confusion in DC has scared the shit out of small businesses everywhere with talk of overturning the tax cuts.

Tariffs increased prices and now distributors are not ordering nearly as much with the price shake up. I know U.S. factories will be coming online to close the gap, but that's 24 months away.

People in my business are in full blown panic mode, slashing expenses, cancelling truck orders, shippers are laying off tens of thousands of people.

Some freight is still there but you have to slash your freight rates to get it. Many are running at a loss, hoping there will be a turnaround but I see no good news on the horizon.

It's a gut feeling and it's getting harder to be optimistic each day. I hope I'm wrong.
