Wanting to see the grains up close, Bill cleaned some and put them on a slide under the microscope. Focusing, he saw a jumble of somewhat rounded, rough grains. He surmised that the slide held a lot of natural magnetite, since it weathers out of granite and other igneous rocks, such as basalt. The high level in the Clovis sample suggested that there was something unusual going on with the sediment. Or was it just natural? Without a chemical analysis of the grains, he could not tell whether the particles were extraterrestrial. That would come later. Disappointed, he scanned through more of the grains on the slide, and what he saw made his heart beat a little faster. He saw spherules—beautiful, perfectly round, highly polished microspherules. He had seen photos of them before, yet he had never seen one under a microscope. He knew that if they were at Gainey, they could come from only one direction—up! Spherules fall from two likely sources: the first is volcanoes, and he ruled those out, as there are no volcanoes near Michigan; and furthermore, volcanic spherules are typically composed of nonmagnetic glass, unlike the ones he had that stuck to his magnet. That left only one answer. The spherules were of cosmic origin. They had come from space, most likely from a meteorite impact or shower.

He set the microscope for higher magnification and saw not one but dozens of spherules. Nearly all were extraordinarily small. Fifty of them, side by side, would be about as wide as one human hair. If there are that many in one view, he realized, there are tens of thousands of them here. So now he knew there was a very large amount of spherules in the Clovis layer, but that was not enough. Were they also in the nearby layers in the same quantities? That was a crucial test, since if he found lots there too, then most likely they were not extraterrestrial. Quickly, he checked the other layers, making a comparative count of the number. What he found was that the Clovis layer had about 3,000 percent more microspherules than the nearby layers, compelling evidence supporting a cosmic event. Curious about the amount, Bill went to the Internet to check out microspherule quantities, and what he found surprised him. When scientists find them, they usually find only a few dozens or hundreds at a time. In one case, the Army recovered 181 from a site in Antarctica. In a larger find, scientists discovered 6,000 in a very old layer in North America. Bill thought he had found many more than that. Fig. 2.9. Gainey magnetic spherules. Most layers show almost no spherules. By far the most are in the Clovis layer. He estimated the number of spherules in the sixty pounds of sediment from Gainey. He did not believe his figures the first time, so he calculated again, with the same result. In the bags on his floor, there were more than 100,000 spherules! He most likely had the largest collection of microspherules ever found on the planet. Astounded, he stared at the six bags of Gainey sediment with its huge load of cosmic spherules, another fact to support the case that something extraordinary happened 13,000 years ago. The evidence clearly indicated that it was cosmic. With the discovery of the spherules, the Event became a more powerful phenomenon. Bill imagined what it must have been like on the Ice Age plains of Michigan when literally trillions of these tiny lethal “ball bearings” descended at hypervelocity onto the Clovis people and the herds of mammoth, caribou, and bison. Involuntarily, he shivered a little, realizing that another cloud of spherules could be hurtling through space toward us at this very moment. Could we do anything about it? He did not know.

Maybe it is too optimistic to imagine that with Douglas
Vogt's timeline of 27 years until the "reversal"...GLP
will FINALLY have its payment system in place and we can
all text as the TSUNAMI HITS and report into our fellow
GLP'ers for "safe places!" :lol1:

to 80,000 views. (Back then, my big obsession with the
pole shift was Dr. LaViolette's theory on the Galactic
Super Wave--which still remains as one of the possible
"triggers" like Suspect sky is theorizing about!) Link

the main difference between the Chan Thomas material
and the Douglas Vogt material:

the "BOTTOMLINE FOR A TRIGGER" for the
Charles Hapgood/Chan Thomas Theory of Crustal
Displacement (where Montana slides down to
the EQUATOR, for example!)--Remember, Vogt
does NOT agree there will be a crustal displacement.
He states the "magnetics" will be bad enough to
unleash the earth catastrophe he describes in

1 hr. 20 Minute duration. Fast-forward to
the 40 Second Mark (in the first 5 minutes
of the video)...Vogt says (with a chuckle
finding the "crustal displacement theory"
to be comical for some reason) that the
"Earth's crust DOES NOT FLIP UPSIDE DOWN.
(Many who are discussing this theory disagree
with Vogt...but I guess we'll see very soon!)

It is an important difference between these 2 theories
because in the case of the Vogt scenario...just getting
to higher ground, say in the state of Washington, above
the level of the incoming "slosh" from the Pacific ocean
washing from WEST-TO-EAST over the continental U.S.A.
...one might assume they could survive the initial "event."

However, if you DO EMBRACE the Chan Thomas theory of
BOTH the Solar Micro-Nova/polar reversal AND the Crustal
Displacement Theory (going parallel at the same time)...
SURVIVING this event is going to be much more problematic
since where you PHYSICALLY STAND before and after the
event WILL CHANGE UNDER YOUR FEET.

One can only imagine the PHYSICAL SENSATIONS the people
at "ground zero"--let's say NW Montana where I'm standing
as I type this post--will feel and experience during a
crustal displacement that takes from 46 degrees down to
the EQUATOR OR BELOW IT in the span of time of say, 1 day
or 2 day's time. The magnitude quake for such an event
to happen would be OFF THE CHARTS with whatever structure
(even some caves unless they do NOT contain sandstone, etc.)
will be shaken dramatically. And this doesn't even count
the MAGNETICS and the ambient background Schumann Resonance
for the planet going OFF THE CHARTS as well. One could
expect some very serious headaches, intestinal upset and
even strokes for the older folks during this time.

So...It is an interesting MAJOR DIFFERENCE that is NOT
a minor one to consider if one or the other theory does
resonate for you and you are contemplating taking some kind
of PHYSICAL ACTION to prepare for this event (like moving
inland and locating a solid cave that may have already
survived ONE POLE SHIFT in the past--the caves under
Mexico for example will be UNDER ICE...so don't go there!)

It's a magnetic shift, not geographic. It's happened before, it's history is stored in the Earths crust. There are no indications connecting mass extinctions with any of the reversals.
...the planet will not flip end over end, it all just a magnetic shift...which will still have some implications...

Read Robert Felix's book on Magnetic Reversals and come back to this thread and report. It's an easy read, and made the Mensa reading list.

Is Felix a climatologist, a volcanologist or an oceanographer? Er, none of the above. His biography describes him as a "former architect". His website is so bonkers that I thought at first it was a spoof. Sadly, he appears to believe what he says.

warn me of what? I watched solar weather and suspicious observer for a couple of years and man it's useless. He's playing on your fear to drive his business. We know for a fact that magnetic pole shifts do not cause extinctions.
