Did you know Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble said Winston cigarettes were good? I believe them because it was on TV! I are a genius!!!!!!!11!!! Sheesh! R. Winston cigarettes were the holy ones manufactured without additives until American Spirits came along. I had a great uncle who smoked them for 60 years. He died of a heart failure at 95. I think the message was “if you are going to smoke, smoke Winston ”. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76186137 Because these people exist and most people are not self-centered narcissists and care about their fellow man: - Vaccinated but did not respond - Babies too young to be vaccinated - Senior citizens with waning immune systems - Unvaccinated due to bad reaction to vaccine component - Cancer patients lacking immune system - chemo and radiation treatments - Those with immune diseases - AIDS - Organ transplant recipients - Those taking immune suppressing meds - Steroids - Unvaccinated children whose ignorant parents are anti-vaccine - etc., etc. And because nobody who is sane thinks it's a good idea to have dangerous diseases circulating in the population just for the fun of it. You won't find much love here as most on this website are part of the anti-vax movement. This is one conspiracy I'm not buying into...reminds me of the bullshit you read on here about "easily" curing cancer without mainstream medicinal treatment. I'm not saying there aren't exceptions to the rule...there probably are. But as a whole, vaccines are a proven science. Diseases like polio were cycled out THANKS TO vaccinations. The anti-vax movement is fake news in my opinion. Anti-vaxers will use outlier examples as the whole story to support their agenda while ignoring the whole body of work/evidence. The anti-vax conspiracy doesn't hold water. |

No thank you. I'd rather get my math tutoring from someone who passed the 4rth grade and understands simple ratios. My calculation is correct. . You can't just divide the number of cases since the population isn't 50%:50% Unvaccinated to Vaccinated. Duh! . Try this, Ms. Innumerate Aussie: . Clark Co. has a kindergarten entry MMR uptake of about 81% with about 19% unvaccinated. see: [link to www.clark.wa.gov (secure)] If that uptake is uniform for the Clark Co. population, and with the data provided: - There are 66 with known vaccination status - 63 of those were unvaccinated = 63/66 = 95.45454% - 3 of those were vaccinated (with 1 dose) = 3/66 = 4.545454% That makes the unvaccinated over represented by a factor of 95.45454%/19% = 5.023923 That makes the vaccinated over represented by a factor of 4.545454%/81% = 0.05611672 That makes the risk of measles infection for the unvaccinated relative to the vaccinated = 5.023923/0.05611672 = 89.52631 = 90 times the risk for the vaccinated. And that is how you get the correct relative risk of 90 times. . Now something is causing this huge discrepancy in disease rates... ya' think it might be the vaccination status of the victims? Or did the vaccinated have a healthier lifestyle and eat more organic kale than the filthy, unwashed, unhealthy unvaccinated? (snicker) You may now stop drooling, AC77482463 . . Math is hard. Especially middle school ratio math and particularly 9th grade beginning algebra... I bet all those PhD scientists with 10+ years of university math/science education can't do this 4rth grade math stuff, I'll bet. </sarcasm> . This is kinda' basic math stuff... Is this the level of math education in Australia? Sad. If you don't believe me have the 9th grader down the street explain it to you... . You're welcome! No charge for the basic math lesson. R. And that sound you hear is dozens of anti-vaccinationists' heads exploding... . You see, young parents, why morans with a degree in Art History or English Lit. or Comp. Sci. or Philosophy or ... may be educated but completely ignorant of science and incapable of offering anything useful on vaccines or any other medical topic except for their uneducated opinions? They quite literally do not have the education to discuss these matters at the scientific level even though they delusionally think they do. You may as well get scientific/medical advice from your cat. Science is not politics. Opinions mean nothing in science... only the facts count. Kids can get a mild form, fewer lesions and less sick. Most don’t get it. The mild form is difficult to diagnose. Also, remember we are injecting a LIVE VIRUS INTO MUSCLE. Is this a food thing? Perhaps sone I’d the PhD on here can talk about the nervous system reverse transport system. This transports to the brain. If the virus goes to the brain and the child has received a bunch of other vaccines, is the brain immune system really ready to handle the virus? |
