Simple mark of the beast understanding

The mark of the beast regards buying and selling. It is a commandment that on the Sabbath, from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown, you do not buy or sell, or work, or travel far, or do tedious work or travel. Already many Christians buy on Saturday, worship on Sunday and many stores are closed on Sunday thereby somewhat encouraging buying on Saturday.

Now whether the mark will eventually be a physical mark that is not what I am trying to talk about, but whether physical or symbolic it is explained how to overcome the mark in the next chapter, chapter 14.


Chapter 13
Revelation 13:13 And he (anti-Christ) doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Revelation 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Revelation 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.


Chapter 14
Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
