Like OP and Mike has warned us about...expect the weather to get wild. Well, We just made weather history. We now have Tropical Storm Cristobal which is the earliest date of 3rd named storm in history!

A look from above, at what we're now calling Tropical Storm #Cristobal.

The system is forecast to begin moving northward across the Gulf of Mexico by this weekend. However, it is too soon to specify the location and timing of any potential impacts along the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Regarding that storm, it is expected to go right over me or just to the west of me. I have been watching the models and all over the weather forums. I will try to watch Mike tonight too, as right now the storm is over land in Mexico, and there is nothing really more to track til tomorrow when it goes back out over water.

You folks down south name your storms. Cristobal looks like it could beat up a frothy mess in the gulf coast. In the PNW we just accept what ever drops down out of Alaska as more wetness. Too many to bother naming. Last weekend's storm:

There's crazy weather all over the country and world lately for sure. Poor Mexico is being pummeled with Cristobal right now.

This evening Cristobal goes from a boil to a simmer as the sun leaves. When the morning sun hits the clouds, it looks like someone turned up the burner.

Mike FATW states around ~1:15 mark that today at 5:15 est and 2:15 pst there will be a wave hit or event.

I'm paraphrasing, just trying to get the word out. You folks are all adults and this is GLP use your own discretion. We all have been preparing for an event.

Hi, everyone. Hope you're having a good day. I forgot to tell you that Sunday night I saw an incredible meteor. I saw it burn up too. It was amazing. Was whitish, yellowish when it burned up.
Also, I worked outside on Wednesday at a client's place. I worked for 5 hours. It was hot and humid. I actually got a sunburn through my shirt. My back got quite burned, right through my shirt. This has never happened to me or anyone I know. Crazy and still painful. I work outside today, too. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.

Strange you say that.

I commented on another thread where someone from Chile (he gave the rough co-ords of where he is) was saying that the sun is not setting in the right place for the time of year.

Which I caught as I live on roughly the same parallel (34S) and have been saying this for several weeks, the sun is lower than normal.

When I go to my garden, it feels like its supper time already, not an hour to go. Ditto where I park my car, I am getting no sun in the mornings at all.

And what is strange, is it means from my perspective the sun is too far north, which matches what you say and what Chile guy said.

How coincidental is it that 3 ppl in different parts of the world with no contact with each other would have a similar observation?

This has been discussed every year since I’ve been here 12 years ago. In winter the sun rises literally East where I’m at. During summer it rises a few degree South of East.

Did anyone here notice anything around the 5:15 pm EST yesterday. I took note from an hour before and after the time. I didn't feel any different or notice anything. Just curious if anyone did?

I took note and around 1:45 PST, I felt the hair on my face and neçk stand up. The sun was out with that slight film/Haze (pearlescent). I then felt vetigo, the event was not due for another half hour so I started on distractions. All I could think of was that stupid commercial where the family is sitting on the couch watching TV and they all start floating with the popcorn. So I made popcorn and felt better. (Butter and salt).

Take it for what it s worth.

NOLA I have never seen that graph look like that. Ever. Space weather did an article about being able to see daytime meteors and Dutch is saying that the pressure continues for eq. I'm with Scotty, ” Captain, I don't know how much more she can take."

I did not notice anything. I made it a point to be outside and gave the universe my full attention. I am not real sensitive to things like some folks.
