Yes, I did read the comments with the article. What concers me the most is that with the sun spot count down and thus its ability to interfere with radiation from space, I must assume the same with cosmic waves. Maybe the next big wave in Jan will set off some sun spots like it may have done last Jan. This could maybe lessen the chance of a grand solar minimum. Probably wishful thinking.
Quoting: eddy From the little research that I have done it seems that any type of solar minimum (such as a Maunder or Dalton minimum) sets off chains of events that we don't like to see on earth. Then, if it is true that we are in a binary system, the approaching system would try to drain our sun on its pass, so perhaps that would throw off the sun cycle and actually cause a grand solar minimum. Who knows, but I find it all interesting and am still learning.
