Pando, the world’s largest organism, has stopped growing

Pando is a stand of aspen in Utah that is 14,000 years old and weighs 12 million pounds.

Latin for “I spread,” lays claim to many records. Scientists estimate that this grove of quaking aspen contains nearly 47,000 individual trees — all male and all with the same DNA. In total, Pando weighs 6,000 tons (around 12 million pounds). Pando’s root system is estimated to be thousands of years old, with habitat models placing its maximum age at 14,000 years. This makes Pando one of the oldest known living organisms.

But Pando’s long reign is under pressure. The aspen stand has weathered millennia of biological pressure, but a combination of grazing, human development, and drought threatens to stress Pando to the point of no return.

In a 2017 study, Rogers found that Pando’s demographics were woefully unbalanced: He only found ancient trees.

When Rogers returned in 2021, he found that Pando was fracturing into three forests. With only 16 percent of the fenced area effectively keeping out herbivores, and over half of Pando without any fencing at all, what had been a single organism was essentially cut into three and exposed to varying ecological pressures.

Aspens are considered keystone species, as they facilitate high levels of biodiversity. For example, aspens provide understory shade to the benefit of many species of mammals, birds, and vegetation. Their understory also holds a great deal of water, making forests more resilient to wildfire.

North Korea will launch a nuclear retaliation “automatically and immediately” if KIM JONG UN is incapacitated in an attack, according to a new law, codifying for the first time that the leader has delegated his strike authority under that severe condition.

The legislation, passed by Kim’s rubber-stamp parliament, also allows for preemptive nuclear strikes if North Korea judges that foreign weapons will soon streak toward its strategic targets or state leadership.

The measure comes as the dictator vowed to never part with the nuclear and missiles program it took his country decades to build, making them more and more dangerous by the year. North Korea will “never give up nuclear weapons and there is absolutely no denuclearization, and no negotiation and no bargaining chip to trade in the process," Kim declared Friday, according to state-run media.

Not anymore: The law says Kim’s bombs can fly in the event of any weapons of mass destruction attack and/or a non-nuclear strike on state leadership, command of nuclear forces or “important strategic objects” that is underway or “judged to be on the horizon.”

Kim’s move is likely in response to comments made by South Korean President YOON SUK-YEOL, who previously suggested that a preemptive strike on the “kill chain” in North Korea is necessary as Pyongyang prepares an attack. "Kosvinsky Kamen is considered the crown jewel of Russia's wartime nuclear command system because it can communicate through the granite mountain with distant Russian strategic forces using very low frequency (VLF) radio signals in a nuclear wartime environment."

It is an automated counterattack system in the event of a nuclear war.

These occupying notions could be physical outward perception, invisible climbing of social hierarchy, obsessions with fraudulent role models, condoning dramatic emotional conflicts, needed worldly acceptance, and/or limited feeling of stability. This participation in a system with a minimal success rate can be similar to the motivations for playing the lotto. Losing is inevitable, but if attained, the ends justify the means. Sadly, though, this lust is impossible for attainment.


Demoralization - An awareness of evil and tyranny is perceived all around them, but they feel even though it's presently within reach, it doesn't affect them on a personal level, so it's irrelevant. Of course, though, a common mistake since the rule enscripted within the realm of existence is doing onto others as you want done onto you. An empty safety net is spun with the premise that those horrid things in other places could happen but never here simply because of our history. Those, however, forget that evil is a gradual process of diversion.


Obligation - A task of the highest regard that involves no means of profit or personal gain. If they see the prison for themselves they must tell others about the containment. This occupation involves the harshest of pains on all levels but at the same time seeing it’s necessary. Most would rather go to their physical jobs because of the quick satisfaction and acceptance. They forget to see that if they just gave a little they'd get more back in the end. The struggle may be hard but it’s so simple.
