The park launched an investigation after an employee found part of a foot inside a shoe floating in the scalding pool. The park said in a statement that foul play is not expected and that “the incident involving one individual likely occurred on the morning of July 31, 2022, at Abyss Pool.” Abyss Pool is 53 feet deep and the water temperature is 140-plus degrees. The West Thumb Geyer Basin, in the south portion of the park, was closed after the discovery but has since reopened. In 2016 an Oregon man died after falling into a hot spring while hiking off-trail in a prohibited area, looking for a place to swim. I also had an ancestry history lesson and received a map of the four corners of the stone that was still there to this day. It had in the grid map all the native settlements and springs and waters with the old names of the locations. We also took a hike around to the settlements and could see where spider Lilys grew that showed old locations near the dug out springs and old trails worn that were actual old old roads. Copies for heirs reserved for forever shown by a stone at the four corners. Because of the treaty of 1819, there was a provision made after 1825 that any Indian family who wished to remain east of the Mississippi River could do so by becoming a citizen of the United States. Loopholes was families must stay on the land, or sold, at $2 dollars an acre opened the door for abuse of the system. Move or was moved. |

They are among more than 800 man-made structures built by indigenous people across Louisiana. Researchers from the University collected sediment core samples, revealing layers of ash from burned reed and cane plants, as well as remains of burned osteons that indicates that the mounds were likely used for ceremonial purposes. A radiocarbon analysis of the material suggests that the mounds were built over thousands of years, with construction of Mound B starting around 11,000 years ago. Tree roots found in sediment layers shows that Mound B was abandoned around 8,200 years ago, a period when the northern hemisphere experienced a major climate event with temperatures suddenly dropping on average by about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, which lasted about 160 years. Then, around 7,500 years ago, the indigenous people began to build a new mound, Mound A, just to the north of the first mound. According to the new analyses, the indigenous people reconstructed the first mound during construction of Mound A, both being completed around 6,000 years ago. “There’s nothing known that is man-made and this old still in existence today in North America, except the mounds,” said LSU Department of Geology & Geophysics Professor Emeritus Brooks Ellwood, who led this study, published in the American Journal of Science by Yale University. The crests of both mounds are aligned along an azimuth that is about 8.5 degrees east of true north. According to LSU astronomer and study coauthor Geoffrey Clayton, about 6,000 years ago, the red giant star Arcturus would rise about 8.5 degrees east of north in the night sky, which means it would have aligned along the crests of both LSU Campus Mounds. Arcturus is one of the brightest stars that can be seen from Earth. |

In the Authorized Version ( Job 9:9 ; 38:32 ) it is the rendering of the Heb-rew word 'ash , which probably designates the constellation the Great Bear. This word ('ash) is supposed to be derived from an Arabic word meaning night-watcher, because the Great Bear always revolves about the pole, and to our nothern hemisphere never sets. |

It is a binary star system, with the secondary star being a red dwarf. As of 1999, an extrasolar planet has been confirmed to be orbiting the primary star. Tau Boötis A is a yellow-white dwarf. It is 40 percent more massive than the Sun and thus is somewhat brighter and hotter. It has a radius 1.4 times solar, and is probably about 1.3 billion years old. Since it is more massive than the Sun, its lifespan is shorter—less than 6 billion years. Tau Boötis is the first star apart from the Sun to be observed changing the polarity of its magnetic field.
