The Sun sets on June 8th 2019 ending the weekly Sabbath thus ending the 49th day of the counting of the Omer and the 50th Day which is Shavuot (Pentecost) AKA the Feast of Weeks, Firstfruits of Wheat, Feast of Firstfruits.

Every evening from day after the Weekly Sabbath that falls in the Feast of Unleavend Bread (Now commonly known as Passover week) to the day before Shavuot, we count another day, marking the 49 days (seven weeks) between these two holidays.

Leviticus 23 15-17 KJV
15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord.

17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord.

It is known as the “Counting of the Omer” since it begins on the day when an omer measure of barley was offered in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem that is the Day of Firstfruits of Barley, the day Yahushua (Jesus) was resurrected.

On a spiritual level, the counting mirrors the journey of the people of Israel in the desert who spent these 49 days between the Exodus (on Passover) and the Giving of the Torah (on Shavuot) in spiritual preparation and anticipation. Yahushua sent the Father's Ruach Hakodesh on the Shavuot that followed his Resurrection to the 120 of his assembly that he had gather and wait for it to be received on that Blessed Shavuot day (known as Pentecost today).
