I am working to foment this attitude. I have a lifelong friend coming to visit in a few days and she is a foaming liberal with derangement syndrome.

I hope to smile and avoid conflict with her. It's difficult, because she drinks and I do not, so I see her get more and more emotionally distraught and I work to find common ground and insert reason and slide in some facts.

But my purpose is to create understanding, not stand on her chest and scream out my anger at the past years.

I understand. She's lived in NYC for decades. There are many who live in NYC who have detested Trump throughout all his years, long before he was a politician, but when he was front page with Marla Maples and being a gross pig.

So I understand.

But it's difficult.
