DON’T TAKE THE CHEESE. The Smollett sham is a shiny object, a distraction. Don’t let the Lying Lib Media go away from beating the Democrats over the head with Mueller report and don’t let the Lying Lib Media take you down the rabbit hole of Smollett.

Emmanuel is a typical liberal/leftist, so his responses to most issues will be filtered through his biases.

He certainly appreciates the business and publicity that the Empire TV show, formerly employing Smollett, has brought to Chicago.

Emmanuel also has a soft spot in his heart for other corruptocratic liberals, such as a Jussie Smollett.

If Smollett had actually been attacked by white MAGA-loving conservatives, then Emmanuel would have been all over this case like white on rice, and therefore predictably livid at the decision.

So why is he not more passive or non-committal about today's news and Smollett skating on by?

Something tricky and underhanded (at least to liberals) going on behind the scenes?

First Assistant State’s Attorney Joseph Magats said the decision to drop the charges should not be interpreted that Smollett did not do what police and prosecutors have alleged — pay his assailants to fake the attack and then falsely report the incident to police.

Nor did dropping the charges mean that Smollett was a victim of a crime, Magats said emphatically.

“Absolutely not.

We stand behind the CPD investigation done in this case, we stand behind the approval of charges in this case,” Magats told the Sun-Times.

“They did a fantastic job.

The fact there was an alternative disposition in this case is not and should not be viewed as some kind of admission there was something wrong with the case, or something wrong with the investigation that the Chicago Police did.”

Police and detectives must be pissed. They finally do an outstanding job, are praised for how methodically they put it all together, and then they get shit on.

The only way this case could end up shadier than it already is would be if Smollett ends up being found dead in his home tomorrow morning and the coroner rules it as a "suicide caused by two self-inflicted gunshots to the back of the head."

”This is a whitewash of justice," a clearly angry Rahm told reporters.

"I’d like to remind everybody a grand jury indicted this individual based on only a piece of the evidence that the police had collected in that period of time.

So a grand jury actually brought the charges.”


As for the $10,000 bond Smollett fortified, the mayor said, “$10,000 doesn’t even come close to what the city spent in resources. And he did this all in the name of self-promotion."

On the ethical cost of the case, Emanuel criticized Smollett for using the “laws and principles and values” behind the Matthew Shepard hate crimes legislation “to self-promote your career."
