I found out the hard way that if I don't use my computer at a desk or table that it always ends up broken.

There is a squatter using my flat desk.

I know it's a strong word but I really hate mercury

apart from machines at work being extra bitchy, I had a monitor cable finally give out after over 14 years of use, and my eyestrain is now lessened with the replacement used cable

natally, merc's conjunct my sole sign dispositor and is in mutual exaltation reception with my sole house dispositor...

24/7/365 merc rx would be clear-headed heaven for me

do you ever plan ahead to be busy with a lot of physical activity during mercury rx periods? like doubling up on exercise regimen, or exercising if you otherwise don't?

it might help, just a daily 5 minute walk/jog each morning if nothing else during the next rx period. it certainly couldn't hurt (unless there's also some sirius transit going on for you, of course, then you might get bitten by a dog)
