My 79 year old mother with Alzheimer's.....

I have a relative who works for a 911 emergency call center

and she tells me that alzheimer people will call 911 all the time reporting strangers in their homes,
and its their own spouses that they think are strangers.

funny that they can still manage to remember how to call 911 though

That's heartbreaking for your family. Not that I'm a fan of Big Pharma, but is there anything that can help keep your mother 'calmer' and lucid?

that's what you pay 4000 a month for the $2 worth of little knock out pills. but they aren't good for them, the pills aren't for the patients, the pills are to make them zombies so they have less work to do. they just lay there til they die

any of those medications the doctors prescribe, always take a few yourself to see what they do.

my mom was having psych problems and I took a lorazapam and my fucking god, the withdrawl was absolutely unbelievable, i have seriously NEVER in my life felt so overwhelming sadness and anxiety. I wanted to just jump out of a window

i took one of these tramadol things and my fucking god, what in the holy fuck. these drugs they give these old people, i'm a runner, weight lifter, and these drugs are absolutely giving me a mental breakdown.

and she's taking about 7 of these fuckin different drugs.

they give her this zyprexa anti psychotic, and charge her 500 for 30 teeny tiny pills. so i took one of those and was a zombie, felt like such shit i didn't wanna move.

these drugs are satanic ritual abuse.

I mean, giving them opium or heroin , that wouldn't be so bad. why the fuck do they give them all these shitty horrible drugs?

I agree with everything you say. Anxiety is an issue for those suffering from Alzheimer's; they forget then panic, sometimes striking out - just like how OP describes. I was under the impression that over the years medicine has provided some help for those that suffer and that there is some relief to be had somewhere.

when she has her MRI ask the doctor if it shows calcium plagues in the brain.

if so administer Magnesium every day as it is a calcium antagonist

I believe that with an organic diet, ALTZ is preventable



once they get to the combative stage, they need to go to a nursing home - they won't miss you or recognize you either

as intended - they keep you alive, til your bank account is empty

Look into Photobiomodulation. Promising results with Alzheimers using near infrared.

They go in and out of it. One day I phoned my mom...400 miles away. She told me how much fun she had with her friends two days before. She was rational. Described everything. Then she said, "Pork chops are on sale at Kroger. If you have time, will you please buy me some?"

I told her where I lived, in another state, 400 miles away.

She said, "Oh, that's right."

It's sad. My mom knew us and all her friends until the day she died at 91, but she wasn't sure where she was. They also become paranoid. For anyone going through this, please be patient. They have no idea what they are saying or what they're doing.

It's not demon possession. They have no idea what they're doing. They get paranoid...think everyone is against them. They're confused. It must be so scary for them. Everyone they see are strangers wanting to harm them. There are different degrees of the illness. Some people are worse than others. Eventually she won't want to eat. Death isn't far behind.

I went to a class reunion and met a classmate I hadn't seen in years. She married the big hunk football player out of high school. They had a great marriage, but when he was 43, he showed signs of Alzheimers. Apparently it progressed rapidly, and she had to put him in a nursing home.

i have been taking zyprexa for over 10 years now off and on...its the best night sleep i ever get ..few days on it and month off of it..and i also take 2 mg of Klonopin daily..just to help me relax..im 42...but yeah Zyprexa will knock you out for 12 hours straight with vivid dreams

Been trying that one for years the problem is and then at home setting getting the Alzheimer's patient to comply we have blacked out curtains red light that turns on no blue light but she is squirrely.

My son complained about risperdal for schizophrenia so i took one to gauge the effects. Didnt seem to be worse than than the problem. I didnt notice much, just a bit down, which passed quickly.

they all effect people differently too, a lot of people say they dont like tramadol but when i took some for a neck injury i thought it was the best stuff id ever taken.

Dealing with this myself. My mom started staying at my sisters because she was gulping pain pills and alcohol and was holed up in her bedroom. At that point she didn't even recognize her own living room. We thought she literally had days/weeks to live.

Stayed at my sisters and after about 2 months became convinced they were trying to kill her. She fled the house numerous times and finally faked a heart attack.

I was talking to a doctor about it and he said that dementia patients don't typically make things up and that their behavior is often a manifestation of their personality...kind of like the drunk that becomes an asshole...he was always an asshole, the alcohol just set it free. And also that whatever they are raving about likely has some roots in an event or reality...they just mess up the story around it.

She is now 2 weeks at my house, 2 weeks at my sisters. Her night wanderings were terrible, but the quetiapine, melatonin,and trazadone (and vodka) she takes every night seem to have smoothed that out. Keith Richards wouldn't last a night with her.
